Thanks for comparison. What was the average speed your stats showed for the overall average fuel economy?
I think something like 75 km/h (around 45 mph) with the street performance tyres provided by Ineos

Only the second fill up for me but that’s worked out at 18.36 imperial mpg on a mixture of motorways and country roads and flooring it up some long hills to test it out
That’s in a 2 seat utility petrol version.

@Logsplitter: That’s 15,4 litre/100 km. Did you expect it to be thirstier?

My Google search made that 12.8 litres per 100km 🤔 and that I’m happy with

Your right but I’m happy with 18 mpg I’m hoping 20mpg when it’s run in and I’m not flooring it. 👍🏼

I am hoping as well that only the first thirst will be that high. A decrease by ten % would be lovely.
Hope dies last!

If anyone is unhappy with the fuel consumption he is in the wrong car
And if someone wouldn’t mind less consumption he is in the wrong car as well?
That means everyone who thinks he is in the right car would wish it would consume even more?
Can’t follow the thought…

I certainly hope the B57 holds on to fuel consumption around the 10.5L/100km for my daily use. 14L/100km isn't viable for what I do as it would add about $50+ AUD a week to just my fuel bill which is 1/3 my weekly food bill. I want to work less these days to make living family friendly!

Everyone is unhappy with their fuel consumption because the ticketed "consumption" when the vehicle is sold is a fat lie. That and the cost of fuel!!! Even EV are expensive now with the 30% power cost rise coming this month!

So if you are travelling 800kms a week (like I do) it will cost you an extra $50 but you can solve that by filling up at different locations and on different days of the week.

I'd not worry about fuel consumption too much until the engine has run up at least 7-10 thousand km. How you drive and traffic etc can vary the consumption enormously. My wife does a lot of short inner city trips. The Subaru returns 17L/100km as a result! On a long trip it averages 5.4-6.3L/100km...
Anything over 85-90km/hr in the Grenadier is going to have a heavy impact on the consumption because of the aerodynamic drag

Correct Dave - I drive every day and go through the kms. I am estimating this using the cheapest fuel I can find. To be fair, diesel here Dave on the coast was $1.78. They are also opening a cost-co here in the northern part of the coast to support all the lower-middle class: and so, I will take fuel from them as they will push diesel at roughly $1.58 in today's market..... so 20c a liter saving. If fuel goes back to normal (circa $1.30 for diesel) then it won't matter, but when its barking towards $2/L, then it is painful even with the best of cars.

Gosh that is horrific. The wifes CX5 2.5L Petrol has a lifetime 8.5L/100km after 57,000km. It does probably 50/50 highway vs town. My ute on the other hand carrying 887kg of rubble (as tared yesterday!) chews 16L/100km... emtpy its 11L/100km. My ute also has no aircond... so that is a saving!!!

It's standard for all vehicles operating on cold days (even in Brisbane) but only travelling a couple of kms at a time. They never reach proper operating temp. An electric car would be excellent for this type of driving. At our age, while we'd like to walk, the local hills with 7-10% grades, in several streets, carrying the groceries home there is no longer an option other than to drive.😟
So... a quick run down the freeway for 20+ km each way once a week to get to the proper operating temp and to boil off the rubbish in the oil does the trick! The Gren will NOT be a short trip pose machine!!;)

If you are driving 800kms a week then surely it is for work.
That makes it a business expense

The Grenadier is supposed to be a very robust off-road vehicle, hence the high weight, hence the lack of round shapes, hence the downshift at 160km/h. It has to be able to do many things for me, but low diesel consumption is at the bottom of my wish list. Nice if he consumes little, but a liter more or less had at least for me no influence on the purchase decision. Who wants or has to use the Grenadier as a car for work will see it differently. But from my point of view, the Grenadier is then not a good choice. Gasoline and diesel will become more and more expensive worldwide.
