I was of the understanding I was getting a free car with the jacket Not sure where that leaves me now

The jacket in the picture is an original trialmaster jacket. It’s wax cotton and originally came with a belt.

Definitely not a thing you woukd wear on cloth seats as would make a hell of a mess.

Also it takes about two years to get it comfortable! But once you do they are awesome.

I think fabrics have come along way now so wax cotton probably outdated.

That was the tipping point on my decision to go with a Fieldmaster not a Trialmaster

And I bought mine in the 70s for around 120 DM, which is about 60 Euros ... but considering the inflation of course today more than that ... ;-)

The best thing was, if you had oil hands you could just wipe them on your jacket.

Yep mine was A$100 and I was 18. It was a lot of money to me then.

This picture was half way thru a 8000km round trip home for Christmas holidays.

Until some bastard stole my jacket, helmet and gloves from the Harlaxton Hotel in Toowoomba.
