Didn't realise that there was a code of ethics for Australian journalists. With some of the stories currently coming from journalists and media outlets it makes you wonder if they have any ethics or morals at all. Robert Pepper may be one of the few exceptions.
That has always been the case
Unfortunately anyone who disagrees with what a journalist or reporter is saying often thinks it is poor reporting.
Often they are correct.
During the first Gulf War we saw the wholesale use of reporters interviewing other journalists.
Often the journalists were in helmets and flak jackets......and standing in front of a screen in New York.

ABC Media Watch should be compulsory viewing, well at least recommended.

No code of ethics when you work for Murdoch/News Limited/Fairfax which covers most metropolitan/regional news outlets.
Very few independent journos left who should be supported regardless of whether you agree with them or not

Nuts to ASPW!
Logsplitter and the crew are doing more for Ineos than he ever will.
If I were "JR" I would be arranging a big welcome home party for their return to Blighty and put in a personal appearance.
This trip is without doubt, exactly the reason JR built the Grenadier.🖖

The problem with the 6 cylinder Cummins is weight, @ 500kgs it would be impractical to put it into a Grenadier

Agree absolutely. People shoe horn them into all kind of stuff over here. I'd never want one in anything less than an HD pick-up (ute).

Specifically, as to the B57/58 I'd prefer an extra liter of displacement but I don't know if there's any off the shelf solution to that.

They did give one to Scott from Expedition Portal to drive across Africa

Brady knows which side the bread is buttered on. ASSPWipe is a loose cannon.

Yes.. it comes down to what you use your car for and what you need. For what I use my car for - I can see the appeal of having a bucket load of torque. This is not me but a mate last week.

The defender got up (not on video) first go much slower. Articulation, diff lockers and first gear and it walked up.

That thing looks heavily loaded in the rear! Too bad you didn't get the Defender for comparison.

I asked. "We've all left our phones in the car".

Actually.. look what I found on the GoPro. I'd forgotten I'd let the wife drive who was lets say novice. First gear high range. All lockers in. Same hill as the 70 series.

Most people in Australia have no understanding of the importance of articulation. As they drive 4WD utes (pickups), and 70 series LC’s. The logic is, that diff lockers will be enough!

probably because most 4WD owners are not driving anywhere that requires extreme articulation.

Small lift, no sway bars, pretty solid articulation but massive by leaf sprung ute standards. There were several times when you could hear the coils creaking as they extended. It meant we didn't have to "throw" the car at stuff like everyone else.

Hopefully the Gren will be similar. I'm not sure how much the extra nearly 1t will affect it in sand compared to the defender. That's a lot of weight.

Thanks!

P.S. - She's a keeper for sure.

Will the right tire profile and airing down be the solution?

Regarding the weight, 15psi on a 3 tonner should have the same effect as 15psi on a 2 tonner. Though, the 3 tonner will have a larger footprint, and rims a bit closer to the ground - not that big an issue in sand. Unless you on big rims.

Well gentlemen (I think that's the correct term) it looks like ASPW is finally getting his hands on a Grenadier. Someone in W.A is letting him drive one, so we will indeed be enlightened by his thoughts on our vehicles.
Not sure who is lending it to him....maybe someone on this forum?

Let's start a rumour 😆😆😆

It has to be @DaveB
Too much of a coincidence that it’s happening just as Dave got his.
ASPW flying all the way to Toogoom in sunny Queensland to drive the mighty Grenadier……and dump shit on it.
