The fleet:-

1989 Land Rover 110 CSW, originally 19J now 200Tdi, running on waste SVO using a two-tank system. Rebuilt 10 years and 200,000 miles ago, total vehicle mileage, 366,000 and rising.
1991 Land Rover Defender 90, optionally built with a 2.5D engine as a special order, (lots of owners, none of whom kept it long).
1972 Morgan 4/4 1600 2 str, hopefully back on the road in March 2022
2000 Maxda MX5 NB California

A Grenadier would replace the 110 and potentially the 90, (although son is hoping for the 90, if he passes his test).

This thread should also say, "...and next automotive purchase?'  or is that a given.  ?

2016 4Runner. When the Grenadier is released I'll be trying to convince the wife to let me hang onto it to pass on to one of our kids. Slow and reliable.

@silvajt  I traded my LR4 HSE for a full-sized Range Rover.  Big mistake because the LR4 has so much more usable load space.  I was hoping the new Defender would be based on the LR4 but after a long wait I was sorely disappointed until I started seeing rumors & reports on the  Grenadier.

In the past 22 years, a lot has accumulated, sort by date of purchase :

A Mercedes C220 CDI T from 2000 for my daily driving. Very rusty (yet, claims to be a Mercedes)
A BMW R1150GS from 2000 (for sale)
An SLK R171 for fun from 2011 (second hand)
A Honda SH 125 for supermarket shopping from 2014
A "Sommer" Diesel Motorbike, one cylinder, displacement 516cc from 2015 (my absolute favorite vehicle,  235 MPG !!)
A Kawasaki KLX 250 Enduro from 2016 (this was the last one sold in Europe)

And, in the future, hopefully a Grenadier (from 2022?) :)

To mitigate my pitiable collection: I had a G-wagon in the late 80ies, a W460. 88 horsepower from a 3 liter, 5 cylinder Diesel engine.
Slow, but unstoppable.  A really great car.

It's only a12 hp engine with a Vmax of about 100 km/h.

But you drive relaxed and can watch landscape and environment. With my R1150GS I always was on a razor's edge -  and finally decided not to kill myself or others after more than 40 years of (basically) accident-free motorbike driving.

So I bought the diesel. It is hand crafted and was one of my best decisions ever. And I ride long tracks. 500 Km country road a day is a normal distance when on tour - and without any refueling the whole day still having 2 liters of diesel in my 12.5 liter fuel tank.

For the "wild" things (more mud than speed), I still have my 250 enduro. :)

Skoda Yeti Facelift L&K with 2.0 DIesel engine (170bhp) 4x4 DSG. Rough road pack fitted.
And I struggle with where I take it as it is not really an off road vehicle. hence the need for something better aka a Grenadier.

Current drive is a VW Amarok V6 Diesel with ARB Ascent Canopy, Falken Wildpeak AT3W
I have had it tuned up to around the 680Nm mark.
Its a towing beast - apart from a few VW imposed specification limitations.

As I can not edit this anymore, I have to correct a number from here:

The online calculator which helped me to calculate mpg from 2 l/100 km showed 235 mpg, but what I didn't see was that this was the equivalent for one liter per 100 km.

Here is the correct number: 2l per 100 km == 117.6 mpg.

Which is still acceptable ... ;-)
