What's everyone driving...?

Currently driving a 2016 LR4. Have had a 2003 G500 and a 2012 G550. Then purchased a 2011 Defender 110. I later sold my beautiful Defender and wonder why I did so. The G wagons of today are really expensive and it would be hard for me to bring another Defender of the Old body style here if not 25 years old (I believe). My Defender was brought in through Mexico and luckily there were no problems. Now, there is this wonderful Grenadier that fits the bill! I just have to find someone to teach me a little about off reading (perhaps one of my brothers). The only thing I wish it had was manual transmission ( so fun to drive).

Having driven nothing but manuals for years, I cant honestly say if I am looking at a vehicle advert and I see it’s a manual that one is kicked to the kerb immediately. Hate driving them now, on or off road.

I think I have answered the question already but if not.
2016 VW Amarok and a BMW 3 series M sport.

The other half just cashed in her “crank snapper“ Discovery 5 (not heard that one before) for what she paid for it 3yrs ago and is now driving round in a Peugeot 206 built in 2000, with 42000 miles on the clock. It cost her a hefty £400 and is now pride of the fleet. 😆

She would argue and say her TVR Chimera is the flagship but she can stick that V8 parts bin of a car right where the sun don’t shine.…bloody thing.

Niiiiice toy! (y)

No thanks. 😆

Have you ordered a Grenadier ??

Cancel that Tom, I just saw your other post

1995 jeep grand cherokee Laredo V8
2003 Mitsubishi montero limited
2008 Land rover LR3 V8

I bought all my vehicles used and cheap and have been maintaining them religiously to keep them running. So far my favorite vehicle is the LR3, though the montero is a close 2nd. If I get the grenadier, it will be my first new car purchase ever and I'll have to finance it. I hope it is worth it!

I'll kick of with:

Discovery 4
Lotus Esprit V8GT

and yes, there appears to be a British thing going on here.
I have a discovery 4, which the grenadier will replace. And the wife has a Fiat 124 spider

Pajero 2016 vintage. Great SUV tourer but not suitable for heavy duty overlanding. Having said that i have done the Canning Stock Route, Gibb River Road and Simpson Desert in it with no problem other than lots of shockies.

I was in the mood for a drive today as it was 29 degrees and sunny Sunday.
Roof open, windows down
Sport mode and adaptive suspension selected
Manual paddle shift and music loud (ish).
I stomped it at the lights and banged through the paddle shift and discovered a guy in a Porsche Cayenne racing me.
I backed off and at the next lights he had the window down and in a friendly way he said he beat me
I asked what was under the bonnet and he said a 3.0 litre turbo 6, what have you got?
I said a 4 cylinder 2.1 litre diesel.
He probably still would have beaten me if I hadn't backed off but still..............
Have to get this out of my system before the Grenadier arrives.
Or I could keep them both??

I recently sold my Discovery Sport - bought new 3 years ago and had so many problems with it. ABS warning light, faulty AC fan, rusting disc breaks, buzzing speakers. Broke down 3 times. Never again. My partner has a Peugeot 508.

A Kawasaki KLX 250 Enduro from 2016 (this was the last one sold in Europe)

I have now sold my KLX. Bought it six years ago, made 3600 Km with it. Not enough to keep it, but had a lot of fun. High quality, light, excellent chassis (fully adjustable) and upside down fork.

But my vehicle park was too big.

I paid 4850 Euros in 2016, mounted a better skid plate, a handle-bar heating and a very good baggage carrier which I imported from the US. And I activated a better mapping for more torque and rpm (an electronic thing).

Now sold it for 4550 Euros. A good deal, but it was in pristine condition.
