Lucky you, I could get it serviced by driving 3500KM and spending 3 days on the road. Kind of silly
Was a resolution sorted for your struggles by Ineos or your dealer?

Also, wouldn't driving to KO in Boston be <2,000km round trip and a much "easier" drive?

Agreed, very silly. I'm only 5 hours and saw an issue on the horizon. I guess that's the advantage of age and experience. I see an ever shortening life ahead of me, and don't want to spend 1/3 of it going back and forth to phili for oil changes. :)

1300 miles. Much more reasonable.... :sneaky: Yes, it has a term, "distinction without a difference".

I emailed customer service this morning. This was my question in its entirety: "Simple question, really. What date was my wagon built?"

Are you sitting down? Here's the reply:

I hope this email finds you well.

At this moment in time, we can confirm that this order has been updated to show as being on route to the local port/agent.

The above status means that the shipping is process, and the vehicle will be on final delivery soon.

You will be contacted with further updates from the local dealer once the vehicle has arrived there.

You are on the last step now to finally getting your hands on your Grenadier, we cannot wait for you to receive it.

Thank you for your patience during this process.

Thanks,

:ROFLMAO: Sooooooo helpful! I know it was on the Tugela. I know it hit Brunswick on Sunday. Just tell me when it rolled off the assembly line!

I swear the sea of red flags should send me running for the hills. This company is its own worst enemy.

From what I've gathered, the customer service folks have no way of knowing exactly what day a vehicle was built... I'm not sure if this is different with other brands or not

They don't know when it was built. I have had my vehicle a year and the ordering portal still says it's in transit.

My advice - don't contact Ineos, wait until your agent gives you an update.

Oh, and chill if you can.....difficult I know!

Nothing sorted. 2000 km is still 3 days of driving. There, dealer day, than back. The point is it should never have happened. There’s no reason we can’t reset the oil service indicator. No amount of driving should be required. And now my auto start stop is acting up. So regardless I’ll have to shut down my business for a week and drive somewhere.

Without trying to sound difficult here... saying you're shutting down the business for a week seems excessive for a 3 day drive, which could easily start on a weekend.

Additionally, the auto start stop "acting up" is an issue that one would expect would be a dealer repair (under warranty), thus expected to include travel to the nearest dealer.

Previous company I worked for ordered 5 x Toyota RAV 4 Hybrids for company cars.
Toyota told them "we will advise you when they have arrived, the specification and new pricing will be available shortly after"
This was a current production vehicle which had been sold for a while.
It took 18 months and the price went up considerably.

Again, yes I’ll have to shut down for a week. My business involves falcons and hawks. Being away means over feeding them. That means they can’t fly, that means they can’t work. So I’m 5-10 days shut down. For an oil change. The auto start stop is a TSB and the truck doesn’t re start after it shuts off. So that’s now a wonderful fun if you forget to turn off the ESS. So since I know my business and my animals. Yes I will be closed for a week. Regardless. This truck is quickly turning in to more of an activation than it should be for a new vehicle.

So it seems there are different software versions..

1. Bing on startup only with a warning on the head unit, nothing else
2. Bing on startup, then a reminder every 30 seconds.
3. Bing on startup, a warning and a bing every 30 seconds.

Number 1 being what you would expect, 2 and 3 specified/coded/tested by the aforementioned idiot.

Your solution "appears" to be extreme. Surely, Ineos must be able to solve the problem with closing your business for a week? That sounds financially suicidal.

Well mine dings and flashes every 30 seconds. I’m pretty sure that would drive you nuts as well. If it was only a start up ding and message that would be great. IT’S NOT!
In the menus there are options to turn down various warning noises, is this possible? I have turned most of mine down

It’s difficult to say the least. I purchased this vehicle with the “understanding” it was a user serviceable vehicle. So far this is worse than a BMW and that’s saying something.

Man if it only dinged on startup I’d be totally ok with that. I’d happily live with it. But dinging while you drive. Constant flashing on the screen. Like seriously. What the hell were they thinking.
