Agree it looks too high when measured but there's more and more evidence of people towing with the standard setup, "apparently" quite well:

Just had a reply from Brink UK. The do make and supply the towing equipment to Ineos for the Grenadier. towing regs say loaded and hitched up top of ball must be 350mm to 420 mm high.
Mine is 525mm so not even in the ball park!
I don't have the actual towing regs to hand but I do recall (hopefully correctly!) that the heights you mention there are for cars (and maybe small vans) and there's a separate class for 4x4s.

Well I have a drop plate that will fit and new bolts as well, 4" drop 6 holes, made by RING.
Plan is tow the van with setup as it is and if it is too high I will fit the plate when I get to wherever we end up at.
Still want a detachable set up though.
Will take before and after photos for the forum 😎

I was lucky enough to pick-up my Grenadier on Saturday. It is fitted with the 2” tow ball.
I’m going to use it to tow a large twin-axle caravan.
The tow ball height is a little high but seems doable. However the typical Milenco hitch snags with the spare tyre so I’m gonna have to look for a workaround.
Any suggestions?

Taps watch...mumbles something about being promised photos...

It's a genuine Ineos hitch made by Brink.

Part No.: EI-0000012743 (is it a capital "i" or lowercase "L"?)

D value = 17.2 kN
Vertical load S = 350kg

Picked it up at the agent's this morning.

Do you know if it is type approved for M1 vehicles as well as using on N1 ?

Chandlers, Horncastle 01507 527211.

I can't confirm the price or indeed availability as this might be one of the first in the UK; but there's now a part number to try and place an order against and maybe get at the front of the queue...now where have I heard that before?

My understanding is that E11 type approval relates specifically to N1 commercial vehicles (more info here: E11 Approval) and does not cover M1 vehicles which come under a different set of type approval rules.
