Towing Again

This is the difference between our cultures I suppose, individual rights over a common goal.
The community benefits from this. Does it make the community safer?
Yes, what have you lost? Not much, just an inconvenience of having to comply with the law.
I think you’re spot on.

I, however, personally come down on the other side of the equation.

I prefer to tolerate a little more danger to enjoy a little more freedom.

Philosophically I think we all agree with you. However, that makes the assumption of proper equipment, safety protocol, and intelligence. Not everyone can be held to this level of responsibility (take the guy in the Jimmy towing the huge caravan).

When I towed on regular basis for the Scout Troop I was within every towing regulation and properly equipped even for unexpected problems. I can’t say this was true for every F150 I saw pulling a Troop trailer. o_O

Only problem is that some people's idea of freedom is very different to others.
Some countries tend to use the word "Freedom" very freely, as if they are the only country that has it.

When in fact they are less so. But we won't go down that rabbit hole...
