Americas The big May 17 Announcement / Pricing / Discussion thread.

If I compare the bare Station Wagon 5-Seater, as it is called in the US, with the 5-Seater Utility in Germany, I get

US: 71'500 US-Dollar = 66'054 Euro
DE: 67'390 Euro = 72'956 US$

Haven't checked for the accessories.

I wonder which price/s you did expect?

I'm curious, does your DE price include VAT? I was expecting ~80K for a fairly loaded Trialmaster. I agree with @grenadierboy that they will sell all 5000 units even if people cancel their reservations. They will just end up at a dealership and probably have a dealer premium added.

Breaks my heart, as I’ve been signed up for the interest list when it was just a conversation and reserved on day one. At $86k for my build pre tax and license, I’m feeling like the smart move it to pass. I think they’ll sell at this price, but maybe not to me.

$92k

I’m probably out.

Way too much for a pig in a poke.

Well, it won’t be dealers screwing us on price…. How does this translate to EU and AUS pricing?

Doc and delivery fees?

I can get it down to $84, that front winch is bloody expensive. I’ll probably put bigger tires on, so why spring for the KO2s.
My fully loaded Trialmaster = A$102K + delivery charges A$3K + govt taxes A$13K = A$118k/USD$83k (on FX rates back when I ordered)

99.9% sure I'm out. Even when my emotions take over and I pair a base model down to BELOW what I'd want for my brand new "purpose built" forever truck...it's just over $80k. That's WITHOUT lockers, or even a roof rack. Nope. Sorry, Sir Jim...for the money this is kinda laughable. My, not even fully optioned, ideal build? $89,580. Nope. My redline was $80k. That's for me, my family, and what I'm willing to pay. I'm not going to accept some severely watered down version that I'm just going to dump a lot more money into to GET it where I want it. That was my whole draw to this. Having a vehicle roll off the showroom floor, ready to roll.

Looks like I'll be looking for an LC200 come Spring

USD$4,000 more than I will pay but, I was able to lock in the first pricing offered - maybe US buyers get the revised/second pricing that was around an 8% increase

Woke up with some indegestion, going back to bed with more…
The current base price is € 75.230 for a Trialmaster or a Fieldmaster in Germany. However, most of us here paid a lower price as the old pricing applied.

My pretty loaded Trialmaster with leather seats and rocksliders in DG (but no winch and no safari windows) has as price (with PDI etc.) of slightly under € 76k.

You are correct, we did get the revised pricing. Maybe even revised, revised pricing... haha. Glad you got the original pricing.
I know that every persons financial budget/position will be different to mine.

When configuring mine - I had a budget (before taxes etc.) of A$90k and was frustrated because I could not get what I knew I wanted.

My wife did a reverse Ben Franklin on me - bless her.

"The quality of what you want will remain long after you have forgotten the price"

I'll be fucked if I'm gonna see some other dude driving "my" grenadier down my street for the sake of 10 grand

I guess we can dig into the particulars, but it seems like they are not giving reservation holders any kind of price protection here in the US? There is only US pricing, even if you order one from a reservation. That’s kind of uncool, unless they are planning even another bump when ‘stock’ ones come…

I find this interesting and maybe those that have already taken possession overseas can comment. There is a note to the final price "† The price shown is the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) and does not include the cost of installation and local sale taxes. The purchase and installation of Accessories must be agreed upon directly with an INEOS dealer."

The part that concerns me is "does not include the cost of installation". I believe I have seen/read where some people have received their IG without some ordered accessories because they weren't available at the time. Does this mean I will have to pay more money if I happen to order an accessory that wasn't available at the factory? Also, does anyone see a delivery charge anywhere or is that already included?

UPDATE: apparently with an * is "The selected feature is a removable accessory that will be supplied and installed by an INEOS dealer". This includes rock sliders, checker plate, etc.

How about AUD$130k — would she have said the same? That’s my pricing.

I would have thought the current pricing is only going to go one way.

There are already rumors of a third price increase before year end - +10% anyone??

The Australian contract does NOT say this but, it does say....."Accessory prices may vary in accordance with the manufacturer's pricing (unless the accessories are already fitted prior to deliver)"

$80,960 for my base model configuration.
They really missed the mark. I could get a brand new full size diesel truck or a classic defender/landcruiser with a manual trans for that.

Unless they adjust the price downward by at least $10k, I won't be buying. Sorry guys, it's been fun.

Update: already submitted a refund request. Bye everyone.

$75k-$85k is too high
No dealer info
No off road test drive near me
No on road test drive
Misleading on price point to get people excited.

Just plain disappointing. How can we possibly think of spending this much money with a 6 month or more likely 12 month lead time and no ability to know what we would get or where to get it.

Price seems to include all ridiculous European and equal taxes. I shouldn't even have sales tax in my State.
I'm in the same boat, I'll wait a year and see what happens. North American region dealer and repair network has yet to be announced and that's my biggest hold up regardless of vehicle price. Besides I've got a Wrangler and Tacoma that run just fine for now.
