Hi TerryHi Denis. Great job. I have just ordered the BD tank and fitting. I thought of fitting myself but thought the exhaust had to be welded in situ to complete the job. I could only find the LRA tank instructions and indicate fully welded. Fitting charge was quoted at $870. Will be great to see some progress pics and finished job. I will instruct them to use a supplied Deutsch DTP plug on the driver side footwell instead of the power source as described in the BD instructions. Just got to split the power source as already run extra USB chargers from DS footwell.
Good Luck
Terry
The BD "welding" is just a recommendation for a couple of tack welds to hold the extension in place...there is really no need to weld the exhaust if the supplied clamp is set close to the edge and firmly secured. I'm also hesitant about welding in close quarters plus need to make sure vehicle is really "asleep" prior to disconnecting battery cables so that the vehicle is fully isolated
My last hurdle is "fighting the beast " to re-install the composite wheel well cover. Damned if I can wriggle/rearrange the replacement filler tube sufficiently to allow the cover into place. The T -Junction is as close to the bend in the main tank L hose inlet as possible (after it was trimmed) and the filler tube is the later model with the shortened 35mm section post final bend.... what else is there
I note elsewhere one of our hardy DIY team has resorted to reshaping the wheel well cover with a hot air gun to accommodate filler tube bulge. I'm contemplating that at the moment .
So near yet so far!!
The fitting fee quoted is probably very reasonable. A hoist would be a luxury .
I guess there's a few reasons I chose the DIY route mentioned elsewhere... problem solving, crawling around the floor under a vehicle, beats boredom when one is closer to 80 than 70!!
