While it disappoints me to say it: I can't help feeling that the greed virus has infected some dealers ...
If there are no software updates, Tech Service Bulletins or recalls outstanding, and you can change your own oil and filters, then that fulfills the 'marketing promise' of being able to do one's own servicing....

Yep, I’m booked in next month, and can feel the pain in the wallet already.
The 300 Series apparently has capped services of $375 every 6mths/10,000km.
Compare that to 12mths/15,000km at a bit under $1300. You can’t help but feel like you’re being buggered.

So, servicing for some of your poor folk is heading towards 3% pa or purchase price... OUCH.

I was advised the second service would be cheaper by my dealer. As the first one requires diff oil that isnt done again until 80 or 100k or something.

If they are jacking the price up again for the second service, I feel maybe there should be concerted email effort from owners to Ineos to raise this. Some owner pressure could have some effect on this. Given that there was talk at the start of servicing price agreements/options/plans that were to be "worked out" as the intial release and deliveries settled.

Might also be time for a concerted push on the parts/service manual that was promised as a term of sale

After paying $1200 something 3 months ago for the 15,000km service, I was also advised that the second (30,000km) service would be cheaper since they won't be doing the diff oils... Ended up paying more. Will need to try a Bosch Service Centre or at least call for a quote.

Correct, material alone is about $170 less... roughly on retail rates... being charged more for the same 2-hour service (max) is horse shit.

Well... I just had my 30,000km service in Canberra at 4x4 Garage for $1307.10 AUD

Labour $778.87
Oil Filter $ 38.01
Water Separator Filter $ 70.04
Air Filter $ 90.73
Brake Fluid 1L $ 43.00
Engine Oil (Liqui Moly TT6100 0W30) 7.5L $ 167.63
Wow!

It's 2 hours work at most, labour should be under $300.

Consumable prices aren't too bad, aside from the oil, you could get 10L of that for under $100 at a retail store (Autobarn/Repco/Supercheap etc.) if you shopped around for sales!

For those in SA, I've heard there will be an announcement in ~3 weeks regarding a new agent/dealer that should be operating from early DEC, hopefully this works out for us after having 6 months of effectively no local customer support (or sales for new customers) due to the gross incompetence of our current agent/dealer.
