Wait, what? If my original order from Ineos had options not delivered and comes later, I have to pay to install them? We should just not take delivery until all the parts arrive. That's shady.
Whether it is at the time of delivery or after the fact, it is up to the dealer to determine what they will charge for the installation of any accessory with the * in the original configurator

Can't judge your seriousness.

in all my years buying cars and trucks i've never once been asked to pay to have accessories installed that were directly part of a new car build (unless agreed upon prior to purchase). sure, if i order them after the fact, or it's clearly stated that installation is not included, that's to be expected. but if i go to the configurator, build a car to my specs, agree on a price for the car, and then the dealer tried to charge me to install parts that were part of that build, i wouldn't pay. i think the dealer or manufacturer would have the obligation to alert the customer that installation is not included in the agreed upon price prior to closing the deal. so perhaps look closely at any paperwork you may have.

when i bought my last truck (defender 110), there were several accessories installed at the port and by the dealer (roof rack, underbody protection, etc.) and never for a minute did i expect to pay to have these items installed. this is another reason why i never order a car and expect to take delivery without something in writing and signed in advance. having a dealer-signed build sheet or order form with all the accessories along with an agreed up price is a good thing to point to and say "where does it say installation not included." anyway, good luck!

I for one already told my salesman I will not take delivery until its all their, and installed. But those FL prices are INSANE. That is gouging those perceived to have money. I do not like that. California shop rates can be 2.5-3X the National average. But in this case they are 1/3rd of Florida! Somethings wrong....I would do the rack myself and for 100.00 have my shop do the checker plates.

Is this your first new car purchase? Every other car I've bought, if you order dealer/port installed options, the price they give you is the installed price. Not charging after the fact. That's some serious BS.

Certainly not my first new car but TBH, this is only the 2nd time I've ordered a car as opposed to buying something in stock. I'm not saying I agree with the practice but IA had this fact in their sales materials - both when configuring online and in the PDF brochures as well.

The only asterisk on the configurator:
* The selected feature is a removable accessory that will be supplied and installed by an INEOS dealer, and it's not considered in the vehicle's CO2 calculation.
Where does it say there is another charge to install it? Crazy.

Will be "supplied and installed by an INEOS dealer."

So why bother having a price for that option on the configurator. To me the charge to install is included in the price, and dealers are just ripping us off when they charge extra. But if you feel like it's fair, that's on you. This is not common practice.

It was relayed in Greg Clark's videos to the pre-order folks; and for everyone after that point, I personally feel that it is the responsibility of the dealer to relay that info (since the orders were placed through dealers after that point)

So a YouTube video? lol. That's not how real companies work.

Dealer in CA sent a price list for accessory installation. If you scroll down to line 85 that gives you the hours/cost to install. Hope this helps -
Whoa wait. That dealer is charging to install the tow bar? That should have been a port install and they're just trying to get more profit when you spend your $800 back.
look ma no asterisk.jpg

No asterisk. Install should be free.
