Double cab / pickup gets a name ~ Quartermaster

I just checked my original specification of my Fieldmaster, which I am paying $115k drive away for.

Now that the new model year car is on the configurator (premium sound system etc) the same car is now $144K drive away.

Unbelievable.
Perhaps puts some perspective on why the USA prices were a bit higher than they were expecting.

750kgs payload and so far no option for Cab Chassis and to spec the same as my wagon order would be almost $150k AUD. I think this will be an interesting sell for them. If it was 1 Tonne payload and you could get a cab chassis version it might spark some interest

800 kgs for more than 100.000$? That will leave the car for the lifestyle customers, not for workers. VW made this experience with the Amarok. As this wasn't really a financial success they put things together with Ford, now. Mercedes faced the same issue, but had it worse, you could get close to a X-Class with a Nissan Navarra or a Renault Alaskan. Mercedes quit with the X-Class.

In Australia workers are 50% of the millionaires.
These are lifestyle vehicle for hard working family men.
miners, plumbers and welders
$200K vehicle with a $150k van behind it

Disappointing price, payload, and should have cab/chassis and/or dropside option. I was really keen on getting one of these, but not now. My 27yr old Defender will still carry a tonne and get 10.5 L/100kms albeit not as comfortably.

Australia has a population of 26 million. Germany of 84 million, Spain 48 million, Italy 60 million and there are hard workers not always millionaires. And in Germny Pick-Ups are not as popular as in Italy or Spain, (yet). So, not the biggest customer base in Australia.

Just seeing the Unbelievable pricing today and woefull payload which means its a dead duck in the UK commercial sector.😮

Confirms the suspicions that the Grenadier is pure and simple lifestyle vehicle.

My Amaroks past and present and the one arriving next week all do more than the Grenadier sadly.
Cheaper faster and even with a few mods just as capable for ALL the UK can throw at me.

Crying shame. cancelling my slot was heart wrenching as I really wanted this to work..😥😥 gutted.

Enjoy them lads.👍

I want to love it but I'm struggling. It certainly seems to suit the dark colours much better than the lighter ones.

Disagree with you there mate. Since getting mine in May, the grenadier has been primary tow vehicle for work. Its got so many features that rivals don't (even pickups), that give it the edge.

Amarok doesn't have low range which excluded it from my shortlist a long time ago, which is a shame as I think they're very well built trucks. They also have a tall reverse gear for some reason.

The Gren on the other hand has a low box that can be engaged with the centre diff unlocked. PERFECT.

The back is cavernous for a wagon, it's got no poncey leather in the storage area to be ruined. The split rear door set up is ace for loading the back even with a trailer on. I could go on but even though its expensive, I guarantee a better working SUV you won't find.

The pickup suffers from it's kerb weight. It's built way tougher than the normal double cabs on the market, but is still limited to 3.5 ton which is a number plucked out of thin air. Thing could run at 4 ton no bother. The influx of electric trucks will test this 3.5ton ceiling as few of them Will have a curb weight of under 3 ton without being made of cardboard.

Quartermaster prices on U.K. website now along with new model configurations for 5 seat utility and station wagons

So you can now get an N1 Trialmaster?

In all the social media today, I've yet to see anything about the hydrogen version.

Yes still waiting on the Hydrogen version at Goodwood but apparently it’s there 👍🏼

I'm wondering if the lack of info being pushed out by Ineos is indicative that the idea really is dead in the water.
