Disagree with you there mate. Since getting mine in May, the grenadier has been primary tow vehicle for work. Its got so many features that rivals don't (even pickups), that give it the edge.
Amarok doesn't have low range which excluded it from my shortlist a long time ago, which is a shame as I think they're very well built trucks. They also have a tall reverse gear for some reason.
The Gren on the other hand has a low box that can be engaged with the centre diff unlocked. PERFECT.
The back is cavernous for a wagon, it's got no poncey leather in the storage area to be ruined. The split rear door set up is ace for loading the back even with a trailer on. I could go on but even though its expensive, I guarantee a better working SUV you won't find.
The pickup suffers from it's kerb weight. It's built way tougher than the normal double cabs on the market, but is still limited to 3.5 ton which is a number plucked out of thin air. Thing could run at 4 ton no bother. The influx of electric trucks will test this 3.5ton ceiling as few of them Will have a curb weight of under 3 ton without being made of cardboard.
