I am trying to decide which of the above providers to go with for a long range fuel tank and would be interested in people's thoughts and experiences in regards to pros and cons of one vs the other. Thank you

Brown Davis have announced a tank (Wagon and QM), but I cannot find a Long Range Automotive product.

Yes, you are right, LRA are finalising their development and getting back to people who have emailed asking about it. I am working to get to the bottom of which of the two is likely to be the better option prior to making the decision on which to install

Nothing has been finalised for a petrol tank from Long Range America yet that I’m aware of and Brown Davis tank is approved for diesel only I think. I’m awaiting correspondence from Long Range America myself once their design and testing is finalised.
Having the auxiliary fuel tank or not will govern how I kit out the rest of the Grenadier.

Yes, as far as I am aware neither has done petrol yet. There is also a manufacturer in South Africa that has made an auxiliary tank and it seems because of not having the ad blue there they manage to fit 90 litres in. I am not sure whether theirs is diesel or petrol. Mine is diesel so am looking for a solution for it atm.

90l of petrol in an auxiliary would be good 👍🏼

Looks fantastic. Not sure what "aluminized steel" is. Galvanized perhaps. Anyways, from LRA: "Recommended Install Time 8 hours"

In my hands, that sounds like I could start now and have it all put back together, with parts leftover, before spring. 😆

Aux tanks of this style are not a simple install on any platform but totally worth the effort.

Aluminized steel is very similar to galvanized but instead of a zinc coating the steel has an aluminum coating.

The Long Range America tank will be 94.6 liters. Basically the same size as the OEM fuel tank for a doubling of range.

Does anybody know how refuelling will work? They say u can fill one or the other but idk how they would do that. Also how much more weight will u had with it? Idk if the muffler weighs more or less the same as the tank

It will have two fuel fillers. The second one will be where the Def would be. If you filled the second tank, you would still need to pump it over.

Not sure where the adblue tank is on the diesel models but guessing as their is no adblue tank on the petrol this would leave more room for a larger tank.

You are probably right but the petrol engine is thirsty, I have just 1000km and my avg is 14.4lt/100km driving like a grandpa….ill need the extra 20lts of the long range auxiliary tank. What gas mileage do u guys get after break in period?

I’m around 20 mpg whilst in UK. (imperial gallons) but have a roof rack and raised air intake, winch etc but not fully loaded. Mainly motorway miles at max 70mph
On my African travels fully loaded to max and lots of kit on the roof. Over 18k miles and average over 6 months was just over 16mpg with lots of off road driving. That’s working out mileage and fuel purchased rather than Grenadier computer mpg.
