You might have to add round 2 thread to keep the good stuff going
I move the links all around between posts to allow more to be added (plus I delete/shorten wording wherever I can). That is nearly done. I seem to be doing every month or so.

Lots of new and updated links. I have avoided the cheap level entry BB's that are poorly designed, flimsy and will not last the distance. Make sure you shop around, as there are be big price differences, with little difference in features and functionality.

See new BB list in the next post.

Updated again and added five more including Baintec, Enerdrive (with Tool Box Centre, MW Toolboxes and Projecta)

BATTERY BOXES
Some Battery Boxes reviewed here. The Hardkorr BB was the winner but the DRIFTA, KickAss and Thunder are also compelling.
  1. KickAss Battery Boxes. My mini review here;
  2. The DRIFTA Battery Box. My mini review here;
  3. Hardkorr Battery Boxes (also marketed as the CAOS Power Battery Box);
  4. Thunder battery box customised by Accelerate Off-Grid Touring, or just the based model Thunder Battery Box here;. Also marketed under the name Drivetech 4x4 Heavy Duty Battery Box - DT-02008;
  5. Thumper Battery Boxes here;
  6. Ardent Battery Boxes here (with 1200W inverter);
  7. Mueller Energy Lithium Battery Box here (no DC to DC charger just a BMS);
  8. BMPRO Power Station (with built in inverter and 12 power outlets);
  9. Baintech Lithium Power Tops in 150 AH and 200 AH sizes.
  10. JTS Power Easy here;
  11. REDARC GOBLOCK (Premium pricing) here;
  12. EcoFlow DELTA 2 Max (you need an EcoFlow alternator charger to charge at the full rate, the cig socket is limited to 8 amps, thanks @Loc Nar);
  13. Entry level ARK PowerPack 3 here;
  14. The whizzbang POWER BOX Premium range here (3 models, 6 colours). Super premium pricing;
  15. Not really BB’s, but Enerdrive-Dometic is famous for their 4X4 Canopy Power Systems. More suited to a canopy on the QM Cab Chassis. I am not aware on any install in the IG. A whole new level of pricing compared to the other BB’s, above super premium pricing. Tool Box Centre offers something (Redarc gear) as does MW Toolboxes (Victron gear) and Projecta Power Boards (Projecta gear);
  16. National Luna Battery boxes here (2 colours);
  17. Battery Box for the DYIer here (by MSA4X4) and Front Runner offers something similar here; and
  18. The Power Easy Expedition Battery Box here, with Expedition Weatherproof Lockable Case, DC to DC Charger, AC Charger and Inverter.

A quick look at these next level Canopy power boxes, a big step up from BB's. This is an Enerdrive Voyager unit.

Or a Redarc TVMS system for your Grenadier cab chassis.

Three new links

AIR COMPRESSOR BRACKETS (TWIN ARB)
  1. OWL under seat twin ARB Air Compressor mounting kit. The Kit comes in LHD and RHD versions, brackets only or brackets with a supplied the ARB twin air compressor;
  2. Agile Offroad under seat ARB Twin Compressor Mount here, thanks @CrazyOldMan;
  3. XHQ rear twin air compressor mounting kit (with compressor) here;
  4. XSPEC under seat twin ARB Twin Compressor Mount Kit here,
  5. Black Sheep Innovations rear twin ARB Air Compressor mounting bracket here; and
  6. Custom bracket (rear) from ORS with ORS Drawers, look here.
The new XPEC under seat bracket looks like this, with the On/Off switch on the door side and the air hose outlet at the front the seat. Unit fits under the passenger seat on a RHD car. An app comes with this ARB compressor. Some info on the app here. The instructions do say the new device atatched to the tyre value is the pressure sensor, as I guessed. Too complicated for my tastes.

I cannot even find it on the AU website, not surprising since it is so badly updated. It gets updated whenever, whenever ARB AU feel like it.

I was excited about the XSpec under-seat kit until I saw the price!

Price does include the twin compressor, which is not cheap. That alone is AUD800, plus the bracket and plus all the extra stuff for the app to work. It is a Rolls Royce setup.

Plus install costs, which must be done by an auto electrician (so says the description) !

I think it does include the twin compressor, which is not cheap.
$728 for the ARB twin, $299 for the ARB pressure control module. $1000 for the steel plate, basic fittings and some hose?????

No one is being forced to buy. I just posted it for FYI. It is not for me, I would rather spend my money elsewhere.

It looks like there may also be some custom wire harness in those website pictures. Which would probably need to go back to a busbar or battery terminal. Twin compressors are fused with two 40 amp fuses.

Not having a crack at you, just was hoping to keep my money here rather than ordering the bracket from the USA (don’t need all the other gubbins).

Item 5 added:

TOWING GEAR
  1. Allin Towbar, send an email, it is a custom order. Look here. I own one, very impressive engineering! Capacity 3.5 metric tonnes, 350kg max towball weight;
  2. Allin also make a variable height towing mount, a custom order;
  3. Hayman Reese, look here;
  4. A Gen-Y Hitch can also work, look here; and
  5. XHQ Towing Kits converting the IG’s 13 pin Euro plug to an Australian style flat 7/12 pin plug. Look at packages 2 and 3. Package 3 is not offered for the 2 seater Utility Wagon (it seems my 2 seater was the only one every installed). XHQ use their own wiring loom in their kit. XHQ have verbally confirmed to me the 12 pin flat plug has all the 12 pins wired, not just the standard 7 (confirmed by phone on 9 Oct 2024).

Hey @TheDocAUS I learnt a new trick the other day..................when inflating your tyres back to the desired PSI, if you have the motor running and the screen on the tyre pressure/temp screen, once the tyre is at the correct pressure the grenadier goes "boing" then remove the hose and onto the next one, same thing happens, the car actually tells you when you have reached the desired pressure.

How do you set the desired pressure on the screen? Maybe something for the @Rok_Dr Guide in due course.

That’s how I pump up my tyres, but in my case I don’t get the bong so I have to watch the screen. Maybe it’s related to a software update?

Cheers Steve

Indeed. I’ll investigate further. One thought is I was using the nato plug to power the compressor so the car was in neutral with hand brake on and not in park.
