I have installed (more of a ‘placement‘ really) a Midland MXT275 GMRS (UHF) 15 watt Radio in the center cubby, where it is plugged in to the car’s cigarette lighter style power point. The very thin antenna cable is tucked up along the right side of the enter console, under the dash, past the...

I have 2 UHF units, so one antenna for each. As I often travel alone I have two for safety reasons. That way I can have one on scan and the other on a specific channel (mostly 40). I installed the second after a near miss from a long wide load, where the pilots did a poor job of warning...

That is an excellent idea! I wasn't too keen on having the RJ45 socket visible. It gives the game away that you have a UHF radio and probably have it stored somewhere inside. I'll be following your example and putting the RJ45 socket in exactly the same place and I'll replace the...

This rear mounted UHF aerial might give you some ideas. On my old Nissan Patrol I had a small LED light fitted low near the towbar. You could do the same with the INEOS and turn the light on when the car is in reverse (by wiring into the reverse circuit). I used a weather sealed Lightforce LED.
