I still can't fathom the amount that was quoted for the parts. I will be honest scares the crap out of me.
Forgive me for not going back Into this discussion and pulling it all together, and I can if needed, but is there a sum available for the total cost in USD to purchase the needed entire handle assembly for LHD?

That's what I was told at a drive enent when I asked why no handle for LHD drivers. Funny, I didn't notice the handle being an issue when I went to sit in the passenger seat. Forgot about it completely.
There’s a bit of a difference in the critical field of vision between the passenger, who is seated kerbside, and the driver who needs to see oncoming traffic.

I have experimented getting in at both open days and 3 different dealers display.
As I have had both my knees replaced, and I am far from svelte, a dainty entrance and exit is important.
Side steps make things much easier, I found stepping up onto them first, then getting into the vehicle makes things so much more controlled.
Particularly getting into the back seat.
Dismounts in tight parking spaces is also a two step process (pun intended)
Well sure, side steps are easier but what if someone doesnt want sidesteps and sidesteps are certainly more expensive than adding a grab rail.
:)

On many other automotive forums there are parts department employees that sell at barely above wholesale. They ship cheap and their managers love them. Just sayin'.

Also, it's not like the RAI is see-through for LHD drivers.

Driver’s side handle probably omitted because it partially encroaches on the corner view out the windscreen. I still think the addition of this extra handle on the driver’s side may compromise roadworthiness in some jurisdictions.

I posted a photo in another thread showing this.
I had a look again today and discusses the drivers side handle with an IG owner, we both agreed that the same handle would interfere with the drivers vision

Maybe a retractable handle on the driver's A-pillar? Or an automated stair-lift? Or a small swing-out hoist?
This would solve the issue, add it to the configurator 👍🏼

I was diligent and have asked two more agents for the prices. I have received their offers, but have yet to clarify whether they are with or ex VAT. When I have the answers, I'll post them here. Might take a day or two.

Stay tuned.

Perhaps in the meantime somebody from the UK could ask for UK offers. I'd like to have offers from there as well before I publish my results here. Two or three offers to compare would be great.

Maybe we'll get a feeling for EU/UK part price differences in general.

Just write your agent an email and ask them for the prices of the part numbers, even although they are for the LHD handle. Maybe this is cheaper in England as this handle is a standard feature in the UK.

Theoretically yes: less weight.
But practically no: without the handle, the driver is not relaxed after entering the car. Thus less relaxed driving = more fuel burn.

That’s logical train of thought. 🤙🤙

received following for LHS (UK Passenger/nearside):

GRA-7000-022530 N/STOCK A-pillar Gra 1.00@ 94.42 0.00 94.42 + VAT

GRA-7000-022101 N/STOCK LH UPR Grab 1.00@ 86.27 0.00 86.27 + VAT

GRA-7000-022111 N/STOCK LH LWR Grab 1.00@ 73.58 0.00 73.58 + VAT

GRA-7C22-022081 N/STOCK LH Grab Hand 2.00@ 29.40 0.00 58.80 + VAT

GRA-0000-000150 N/STOCK Screw M6x16 9.00@ 0.25 0.00 2.25 + VAT

so £378.39

I would actually quite like a handle on driver side as I'm a short arse and it would help rather than using the ceiling grab or putting pressure on the door hinges or my whale foreskin covered steering wheel. But I'm not paying £378.39 for it! Will see if any other aftermarket mods come out or look to fabricate something.

That is completely OTT (over the top, for the benefit of @Jean Mercier) although the 16 x M6 screws are reasonably priced for a small quantity order.

That's crazy.

What are all those parts anyway? Did they share a parts diagram?

yes they did but I'm struggling to upload. may be quicker to look back at @DCPU 's allocation of emax's prices to the grab handle picture, back on one of the earlier pages.
