Who is experiencing software or electrical gremlins?

This guy decided to sell his Grenadier after a couple weeks, because (1) he bought a 5 door Station Wagon that was classified as a Commercial vehicle without realizing it (blaming Ineos for poor communication) and, as a result, found his vehicle speed limited by law and is having a tough time finding insurance , (2) fit and finish complaints (shown here: YouTube clip), and (finally on point for this thread) (3) the Start Stop function never worked:

I kinda wish the Start Stop did not work from the jump in my wife's Acura MDX. 😏

The UK configurator has this on the first page
They are a nice couple but not sure how they could have missed this, unless it was added after they placed their order

Apparently recently updated according to the guy in the video - just giving him a fair shake. I'd be shocked if he is a forum member. He would have sussed this before ordering if he hung around here long enough

Comprehensive research before ordering would have helped - I lost count of how many configurations I did.

The fit & finish he mentioned is indeed a valid point, especially given the price. I too find it odd that the rear seat areas he mentioned were not better finished when it would be relatively easy to do. Sometimes it's the little things.....

They are finished for the standard non commercial version, which leaves a poor finish when the seat in moved 70mm forward.
I guess Ineos are working on the theory that if you are ordering a commercial version you are Ok with commercial vehicle finish in some areas.

Horses for courses, I guess. You gotta know which horse you're saddling up.

The website might have been recently updated but it was clear from day one of the configurator going live that there was an M1 & and N1 version.

I'm positive about this as I built up a configuration for both and the M1 was coming out at better value for money given that Ineos were saying at the time (later reversed) that the prices included VED.

He didn't do any due diligence and looks to blame others now. He's banged on about it quite extensively on FB.

Insurance was easier and cheaper for the commercial in my experience.. and I’m baffled to understand how anyone could claim they were not informed about the difference between the commercial and passenger variant.

Fit and finish wise, the Gren is in line with expectations.. it is an off road utility vehicle with tractor axles. If he wanted a handbag carrier or soft roader he should have bought one.

the Handful of issues I have had on mine, are all tolerable and will be fixed at the software update or fixed in situ..

I've just watched the video ~ he says the reasons for selling include it being a commercial with all the "issues" of lower speed limits, and lack of insurance providers but then says he going to wait for the pickup and maybe buy that! 🤣

Side note, he's saying actual sale price was just what he paid for it, so no premium based on current list prices.

He's just a budding social influencer

I smell a rat - it was sold for £64k plus fees on Collecting Cars, right? I am fairly au fait with the configurator and see his spec (pre UK price increase) as roughly £58k. The car has done 250 miles and as an early chassis number (1129) would have been sat in batch and hold since probably January. I'm not surprised the start-stop hasn't activated yet as the battery will be below 90%, especially after repeated engine starts and short trips. I think this man set out to flip his car and because it hasn't gone as well as he hoped, i.e, he only trousered a small profit, he is finding way of blaming the car.

I accept the point about certain fit and finish issues, especially in the rear seating area of the 5 seat station wagon, but I don't really care as for me they will be very occasional seats anyway. I am more bothered about the load space and towing capacity and I know the money has been spent on what's going on underneath the Grenadier.

Love all your detective work there JOB. I suggested on his site that he should charge the battery the other week. He obviously didn’t get round to it.
As someone else mentioned. A nice couple looking to do something different. Good luck to them. No intention of selling mine. Any shortfalls likely to be addressed by the aftermarket and great forums like this.

My alarm went off this afternoon it was the back door that was now showing open as you cant lock without it registering closed .
