What is the exact procedure to train/learn/register new TPMS sensors to the Grenadier?

Thanks for sharing this. Does this all means that you can't rotate your own wheels and have the right readings, but need a dealer?

Correct, with the OEM sensors, only the dealer can reset them to the correct position.

Correct; unless you replace your TPMS sensors with something like the Autel MX sensors, where you have the ability to re-code the sensor each time you move a wheel

MTNDOG, parb, others, I'm in the same boat as many on this thread having purchased a new Autel MaxiTPMS TS508WF and Autel MX sensors to do the above for a second set of wheels/tires to swap out between highway and off road etc. But I have no other options for coding the Autel MX sensors than the Auto Create 1-16 Sensors, not having the Copy by Activation or Copy by Manual Input options on the new TS508WF. Autel technical folks confirmed the same.

Anyone out there w/ an older TS508WF / software who would be willing to program my MX Sensors (loose not yet in the wheels) manually for me using my Ineos Grenadier OEM TPMS codes which I was able to interrogate using my new TS508WS, for a fee? As discussed, I just need to get them on the proper corner of the vehicle when the wheels are swapped out so they are read properly by the IG.

I’m near Austin, Texas but have expect to travel to Florida, Ohio, and Colorado over the next several months and could meet up with you.

Any help / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Steve

I ordered my Ts508wf in October, updated to the latest firmware and programmed my sensors. Strange you can’t?

Same boat here… no option for anything other than auto create id’s. Tried changing regions, as well as scrolling through a bunch of different vehicles to see if the option popped up, but no dice.

If someone comes up with a solution, would love to hear about it!

After many months I finally decided to check out my TS408 Autel tool. I read the tyres' valves on the car (BFG KM3's with unknown 3rd party valves) and all came up in the machine. Next I read all the ones in the original tyres with OEM valves. Interesting but no further forward.

The I tried to copy the OEM valves ID onto the 3rd party ones on the car (not Autel valves, I have 5 of those in the shed). Tool just said unable to copy, make sure tyre is under 10psi etc - bit odd that I thought.

Anyhow, my grand plan has always been to clone the 5 Autel valves in the shed and replace the tyres on the truck with those when I have time to go to the tyre shop, just not got around to it yet.

Went for a drive just now and slight progress, I now have 3 tpms come up on the dash. Not sure what has triggered them, I sure as hell have not cloned them. Perhaps the TS tool woke them up???

What is also odd is that the offroad temp screen does not match the amber warning icon next to it. So I haven't really got very far at all.

I have had the amber warning with no tpms recognised since late September 2023 so not in a major hurry to sort but wonder what people think has occurred.

Next stop will be to clone the Autel ones and pop to the tyre shop as have an 11 hour drive up to Inverness soon and it would be nice to read the mileage when I would like rather than wait 10 seconds otherwise could end up inadvertently besting @jean fuel run!

Interesting. Am I to understand your IG recognized Autel TPMS units in 3 of the 4 wheels, Autel or other third party units that had not been reprogrammed to clone OEM TPMS unit codes? That is some sort of progress. I’ve never been able to get my IG to recognize Autel TPMS units I stalled in my second set of wheels/tires. Anxious to follow your progress. Cheers! Steve

Hi Steve. The Grenadier after not having registered my 3rd party tpms since Sept 2023 has now recognised 3 (perhaps 2.5) of them.

This has been without cloning, simply just reading them via the Autel TmS408 tool I have.

I have also recently had the latest software update to my truck but not sure whether that has had any effect.

The only thing I have done that appears to have got the truck to register the current tpms is to have read them on the tool.

Will try another few rounds but I sure would like not to have to whip the tyres off the rims and put in the Autel Maxi ones. I will let you know how O get on.

I will also try and clone the Autel tpms in the shed which are in their boxes still sitting next to the original Ineos tpms in the original Ko2's.

Given how many folks are running aftermarket wheels I'm surprised there isn't more grumbling about this whole mess. Also I wonder how many people rotate their tires and just accept (or dont even notice) that the positioning is wrong. Either way, this is such a dumb problem to have in a $90k vehicle (or any new vehicle for that matter).

Hello,
Yes, it is possible, that's exactly what I just did.
I take this opportunity to warmly thank @douggie: thanks to his publications, I discovered the possibility of managing AUTEL sensors.

I have now copied the Autel MX sensors to read the ID's of the original OEM TPMS, or should that be cloned. Have, now positioned the 5 cloned sensors in the back of the truck. When I triggered them with the TMS Autel tool they were all picked up by the car, well 4 on each of the corners were. I have yet to go for a drive, they showed 0 psi but no alarm. Next step is to have them transferred over into the tyres and re-copy them as I rotate the tyres.

What a complete mess.

Or just put them in a box under the seat and forget about TPMS. I'm extremely tempted to do just that. Would be fine if we could make separate max min changes. But the narrow seemingly 3.24732psi variance is so small you are bouncing off it all the time if the weather changes even a bit. Or you don't park in the shade.

If they keep the amber warning away from the main screen (which I've put up with since Sept 2023) then I'll gladly leave them in the back. However I reckon I'm probably going to have to either stick them in the tyres or at the least stick them in some pressurised container.

It's possible they may be alright as I triggered the OEM sensors with the Autel device in the original wheels and drove around for about 12 miles before the car realised they were not on the corners and back in the shed!!

Ok that didn't work. Even with the Autel sensors located in the pocket of each door the car lost them 5 miles down the road. Also at 0 psi keep getting a low pressure warning and cannot reset pressure alarm. Will have to try and get around to putting them in the tyres and try again.
