Agreed, but... for the largest market (the US) they self certify. This process is pretty straightforward.
as long as they had a suitable part then i think they could have opened manufacturing of vehicles for the US market relatively quickly.
As long as regulatory for the other 39 markets are largely paper work and not redesign you could restart manufacturing quickly.
Or you can accept that the US market is different and have different parts in the vehicles in that market, its what many others do.

If they didn't have a supplier lined up then of course its going to take whatever time that takes. i suspect its more of a matter of finding a supplier that suits the design language and product quality.

I think they have sold enough cars to be heading towards critical mass. Its not like fisker who only delivered 4,000 cars before they ran into bankruptcy.
At 10x the vehicle volume they should be on the other side of that. I also dont' see mass discounting taking place.
In this i think it takes a while, the first enthusiast drive the first initial big sales volume, then you get a valley until the pace picks up again.
Tesla followed this pattern as have others. Ineos just needs to focus on process efficiencies and refining the product and it will be all right.

I'm surprised they haven't built more for the aftermarket. This is a great place to make some additional upside. like bullbars and other extras. A class margin enhancer.
Possibly they didn't pursue a different seat supplier because they already had a solution underway.

If I were running the company I’d forget about Europe and anywhere else with mandatory EV laws looming and concentrate on selling good ice cars to the rest of the world. There’s huge markets out there.

EV laws aside, eventually the supply of decent late model Old Defenders will dry up in the EU and the UK. This works in Ineos' favor and they seem in good position to grow through the coming decade as the vehicle proves itself over time in both comfort and capability. Maybe slower growth than hoped for but I'm cautiously optimistic. Yes, the emissions regs will be difficult to overcome. In the short term I'd release a two-door hybrid using BMW's next iteration of the B58 and start sponsoring a Euro-centric off-road challenge.

The news was verbal and confidential from within the Ineos Australia network.
Heard the same info and hence why I said they will start production in Jan. Not known but assuming they will end up using some of work force since they already know how to do it.

Why not post this in one of the 50 other threads on the same subject instead of starting another one? 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Not sure who's comment you are referring to but this thread has been going for a few days and is up to page 4.
There are quite a few topics on here that have 50++ pages of comments over a couple of years and it does become a question of relevancy after a while.
This is a problem when people search for a subject and the poster has used a Title which makes sense to them, or people in their country, but doesn't take into account that this is a GLOBAL forum.
At the end of the day it isn't compulsory to read anything on here.

Talking to the “OP”, didn’t catch the meme at the end of my post? 😉

I can’t be the only one tired of seeing a new thread pop up every few days saying the same crap about the shut down. It’s all the same stuff, no one in weeks/months has posted any new info because Ineos is not saying anything. So we are all just guessing at what’s going on. None of us really knows. That’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it. Yes you are absolutely right it is my decision to read any post, and for any member to post anything. So it also is my right to post on a thread I’m tired of seeing new threads on that I’m tired of seeing it. Confusing my own self, which is not hard to do btw….🤷‍♂️

I personally think you (and everyone) should ask those questions though. I worked in disaster services for years, in fact I live in a place where we know for a fact the big earthquake is coming yet most people don't even have a small med kit. I asked myself what happens if the power cuts out, so I bought batteries, a few extra flashlights and a battery operated fan. It's not doomsday prepping to make sure my family is a little more comfortable if we get a few days without power. As for the internet my family will skin me alive if it goes down for more than three minutes so I don't prepare for that at all. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.
Here in Houston, we see average (Ok, above average) installing whole home natural gas generators because of hurricanes, I guess a starlink is my next purchase as I have the same family dynamic, no internet equals the end of civilization as far as they are concerned.

Could you imagine teenagers and twenty somethings (whatever that term is) without internet? I’m in Louisiana so I know hurricanes, and if the internet goes down (I do have a Generac home unit, but if the provider goes down like they usually do in bad storms) then OMG it is the end of the world for the kids. When I was a teenager there were no cell phone and if you wanted to call a friend to see what they were doing and you were on the road, you best have first $0.10 on you then went up to a whopping $0.25 before they pulled all gas station pay phones. Yep I’m old, but when the Zombie apocalypse does happen, my generation will be able to handle the initial loss of a lot of the current tech. Just saying……..🧟‍♂️

Actually when I searched for the topic I found about 20 threads (I think that is the correct term???) that I could have posted under.
I tried to find one that was recent and not too long.

From time to time I receive information from inside Ineos from what I think of as first, second or third level sources.
  1. Very senior Ineos employees, usually one particular person
  2. Other level Ineos employees
  3. Dealers.
I will share here what I am comfortable is accurate.

Like you I do get sick and tired of people on here making comments with no substance...........but then again I also could choose not to read them.

I think also it would be good for some people (not aimed at you) to take into account that there are people on here that have been members since early 2022 and earlier from a time when we were all dealing with subjecture, estimation and whispers.

When I was young there was only one house in the street that had a landline, because he had a plumbing business, so everyone gave out that number and when someone called they would send one of the kids to come and get us. We got a home phone when I was about 13, just after we got an inside flushing toilet.
