When I was young there was only one house in the street that had a landline, because he had a plumbing business, so everyone gave out that number and when someone called they would send one of the kids to come and get us. We got a home phone when I was about 13, just after we got an inside flushing toilet.

I recall early on we had two brothers on here from the UK who had both placed orders, 81 & 83 years old I think.
Someone correct me if I am wrong and if they are still on here.
I know we have a genuine Australian celebrity on here who has one @Bushguide who must be nudging 80++ by now. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Seriously?
Let's see.
In the U.S., there are thousands of ROW D110s from eons ago that people happily pay nearly the same amount of money as the cost of a brand new Grenadier.
These are beat-up trucks, some well restored, some hacked to death. There's no warranty whatsoever.
With the Grenadier, you at the very least are getting a very common and well-known engine and very common and well-known transmission. Both new.
Seriously. Theses are new trucks with no support outside of the dealer network, not some 1950s technology a Cuban mechanic can fix using soup can lids for piston rings.

Also, the warranty isn’t free. It’s a huge portion of the price of a modern car. If you eliminated warranty’s (all else equal) you can lop off 10-20%. So basically, we took it in the pooper if ineos were to shit the bed.

If ineos were to announce tomorrow, they were done, no car company is buying the plant, or the design. It’s over. Buying a Gren at that point is doing so for the novelty.

Even if the worse case scenario happens and they don’t open back up, I am still keeping both of mine. I already found a local shop for me willing to work on mine & I am sure many of you will do the same. Not all due to the locations you live in. These vehicles have well known parts including engines and transmission that can be worked on. The computer can be “jail broke” by one of the ton of tuner companies who would make a killing selling that info to the owners. I would also bet that just as many vendors that are still popping up now will continue to do so making replacement parts for accidents, etc. Heck I even had a conversation myself recently about investing in a company with someone in this industry already to make replacement parts if the worse case scenario played out. I won’t give up on my Grenny’s.

But the bottom line is in my opinion & belief that none of this matters as they will be opening production up in a few months. I can then call out all the naysayers OR if not I will be bombarded with negative messages and will suck it up like a man and handle it. So time will tell which is will be, but I honesty already know.

Btw, I don’t always have positive news on the Grenny’s even as Much as I love mine. Will be posting something later on that many people will hate or choose not to believe.

Peace ….✌️ 🙏

IA is a going concern as long as Sir Jim wants it to continue as a going concern. There's no reason to think he's lost interest and I respect what he's done enough that I bought one of the early vehicles in North America.

That said: the "rugged vehicle that lasts forever" value prop is valid only if we can keep it running. With mechanical parts we can measure the parts and fabricate replacements. What should worry us about "forever" are the parts we can't easily reverse engineer. CANBus messages. Software. Some proprietary parts like touch screens and ECUs. As an example: there's enough vehicle menu in the touch screen that I don't see an easy way to pop in a DIN info/nav unit as a replacement.

I don't see it as negativity to argue we should get all the info we need to keep the IG running. And escrow for anything we can't see in the unlikely case that Sir Jim loses interest. I'm not arguing Sir Jim should release enough public information for Proton Motors to make a 5/8 scale "Minadier" version to compete with the Jiminy. But enough info that owners have some support assurance for more than a couple of years.

I think we can all agree that support documentation is 100% on-brand and just the right thing to do for owners.

Again, what warranty there is for a $80k 95 ROW 110? And if you think it could be fixed or even maintained by non-Rover-enthusiast shop, good luck.

I had no idea this group of IG owners are so darn sensitive to the potential dooms day for the truck! My only concern was the warranty baked into my purchase price lol yes it’s a fabulous rig but other than that it’s not the end of the world.

What potential doom? That’s some heavy pessimistic thoughts right there. I was never worried like that. To me, The only sensitive one was you. 🤷‍♂️ I wasn’t worried about a warranty as I had faith they would open back up production and things will get back to normal. Well actually sounds like 2025 will be very busy for Ineos/Grenadier/QM.

Shouldn’t you be happy now with the news of the production starting January 2025? Now you can take a deep breath and keep driving your beauty of a vehicle knowing that’s its warranty is still intact.

By end of January 2024 Australia had 1,100 vehicles sold according to Justin Hocevar in an interview.
That is sold to end customers.
He was expecting the same in 2024, plus the Quartermaster and then Quartermaster cab chassis on top of that.
Quartermaster suits the Australian market more and particularly the cab chassis version.

One dealer alone told me they were delivering 30 a month (so probably 20) and we have 29 dealers in Australia.
Another dealer this week told me they were doing services on 2 Grenadiers a day.

So I GUESS probably 2,500 or so in Australia by years end.

Perth agent said they had delivered 300 about 2 months ago
