3 weeks without driving, because of hip surgery, and today I had planned some mall crawling, but awoke me at 5h30: they needed an interpreter, so I jumped out of bed. After calling me back that they found a lawyer who could be there at 7:00, I drove to the police station at 10 km from my house.

Before starting the car, I did check my battery status on my Grenadier screen, not worried at all, because I had been checking it with my Chinese battery monitor in the last 2 weeks.



The car started without any problems.
Notice that I have the double battery.
After coming home, my battery status was already at 74%!
I then downloaded the data of my battery monitor, and you can see the voltage going slowly down from 12.68 Volt to 12.29 Volt.
(The peak on July 18 is when I moved my car 1 m backwards in my garden and the downward peaks are the two times I opened the car).


I am happy that I can drive again.

So after a long weekend working on the Grenadier it is much better prepared for the next Morocco trip.
After puncturing the transmission sump last time, I decided to fit the Eibach Pro Lift springs, Braid wheels with new BFG AT's, and fit a full set of underbody protection from Almont 4WD.
Also fitted the D250SE charger with wiring suited to charging a separate box carrying the 100A Lithium Battery for fridge and roof tent consumption, leaving the dual battery system as standard.
Lastly the Bison external side molle panels were fitted for carrying additional water and extra fuel freeing up the roof rack.

No, the next trip is more sand and the trailer is a bit of an anchor. Im actually looking forward to kitting the grenadier as we used to and slimming our needs down a little.

Glad you’re up and about again Jean. I hope the surgery was a success.
Interestingly my SOC didn’t get below 90% during my time away from the wheel.

Did the other side with Bunnings steel mesh , and the door strap using the same cow that donated to the passenger grab handles.

Standard. Some sort of textured plastic coating. Not the painted garden mesh , it's thicker and pretty robust. Cut with angle grinder.
Look for

Today (this weekend) I hit 1,000 miles while out in San Rafael Swell exploring. I'm completing the UTBDR in sections. We found the cancelled Spirit Railroad grade that had some fun go-arounds from wash outs (now excluded from the latest UTBDR route) and lots of petroglyphs and pictographs. If anyone is in Utah hmu for a group ride!

Yes, I would say a really beautiful area where it is allowed to go offroad some days of the week.
Have you done also Sommeiller and Jafferau or you only Assietta? I have done all by motorcyle but by car I would not do not dare the first two - because I am not so experienced 4x4 offroader and especially going down the route to Bardonecchia especially in the afternoon after the daily thunderstorm.

I installed the Owl hood latch.

After a month or 2 of looking at the box I finally had time to install a better light in the rear cargo area. Also mounted a flashlight and Elemnt fire extinguisher. I printed the those mounts but the plastic used doesn't like the heat so they didn't hold form enough. So I used the Element mount but didn't take an updated picture.

I got the 40" and the LED dimmer switch. I haven't put the Dimmer switch on yet.

Very well. Everything bar one (the first) exit successful on first try, never looked like stopping. Unfortunately one of my companions got water in his car in the first crossing and enthusiasm waned. We got off the track at bypass Rd. We did some more of the northern section the next day, but word of lots of drowned vehicles at Nolan's brook meant a group decision was made to take the bypass Rd.
