I really thought we would have to put some cash down with the dealer once all commitments are made, but I guess we are all in uncharted territory with this one.
Yeah we just don’t know what sort of incentives ineos gave the dealers.. for all we know they could have gave all these dealerships that are helping launch the company extended terms on all these preorders. So anyone who doesn’t pick up their pre order, I doubt they couldn’t sell them off the lot before they even have to pay back ineos.

Same. Although the estimated build month has a “-“ next to it.

The big question though. Will I get my Grenadier before @DaveB …….. ;)
@Stu_Barnes
I'm showing in production on my page as well. Estimated build months also has a dash.

Thanks!

Premonition for the future... Everyone who has the dash for estimated build month (or quarter as it may be), will have the dash replaced with a slot within the next 7 days.

Now we wait to see if I should start telling people their fortunes or not

I have a BMW X5 50e on order for my wife and it goes into production the first week of October and we will have it 2-3 weeks later. They say production takes a week.

How long do we expect production to take for the Grenadier?

Your X5 is also being built in South Carolina and doesn't need to float across the ocean.

That still seems surprisingly quick though. My Raptor took several months and I think 8-10 weeks for domestic options is not uncommon.

BMW's US production timeline is super quick... a family member ordered a X7 last year, to spec, and from placing the order to taking delivery (East coast) was right at 4 weeks

8-10 weeks for delivery or 8-10 weeks for production. I am trying to find out how long it takes to produce the vehicle, not deliver it.

I believe I read a post here that said start to finish was 56 days? I am not certain that's right, just what I recall. I could be wrong and invite others to come in and confirm or refute.

I meant 8-10 weeks from order to driveway - not build time.

It was suggested in a different thread that it takes about 3 weeks to build. Probably a guess as well.

I build factories that build cars.
From coiled sheet metal to loading on a trailer takes quite a lot of time.
Stamping out the panels, transferring them to body, loading the welding cells, etc.
E-coating the chassis and body takes a long time.
Painting and curing the paint takes time.
Coming out of paint there is time for perfecting the paint.
Frames are usually inverted and suspension, brake lines, etc added.
Simultaneously, the doors are trimmed out, body is being trimmed out.

Engine, driveline is mated to the chassis
Body gets mated to the chassis
Radiator and fluids, brakes charged and bled.
Seats and interior comes in during final trim.
Glass gets installed
THEN YOU START CHECKING SYSTEMS.

When I had a Jeep XJ built (walked the line to see it created)it took almost an entire day between paint and engine start up.
So I would say more than two days for a grenadier. It’s low volume, there are other models being made in that plant simultaneously, early cars have a lot of hand fitting, and supply lines are probably not perfect yet.

I thought there was a member here who works for Ineos? He/she/they introduced themselves a while back.

There are several, both overtly and covertly

I have seen a few posts from members who have stated that they can now see that their vehicle is "in production". Is there anyone on the east coast who can see that their vehicle is in production? It seems that we have only heard from our friends west of Denver who are seeing this change? Is there anyone out there? (North East/South East/Mid Atlantic/Mid West)
