🤔 you came back from a „job“
I am slightly worried about your real profession!
  • I was an engineer (self employed management consultant) till 3 years ago.
  • Since 2009 I also occasionally did "sworn" interpreting work for police and justice.
  • Since 1 April 2022 I am officially retired, I get a pension! (no, that's not a joke)
  • But 3 years ago I continued doing the interpreting, because I like it: paid hobby!
  • This has taken such proportions that I have almost every day some hours of work, mainly for Government entities.
  • I have seen and heard and interpreted for all kind of people who don't speak Dutch: victims of road or work accidents, thieves, illegal immigrants, murderers, rapists, illegal workers, victims in general, managers defrauding social security or taxes, drug dealers, drug smugglers and other smugglers, prostitutes in legal or illegal situation, their pimps, sometimes abused kids, witnesses of events, psychiatric cases, and I can go on!
But I think I already mentioned this on this forum.
I am perfectly bilingual French-Dutch, and speak fluently (Brazilian) Portuguese, Spanish, and my English is quite good too I think, although I have a horrible French accent according to my kids :ROFLMAO:.
  • Yesterday late afternoon I came back from a Justice hearing in Hasselt Belgium (interpreting Dutch -Portuguese), and I stopped on my way back in Lokeren at the Ineos Grenadier dealer.
  • While I was there (about 18h), I got a call from Social Inspection: they asked me for interpreting Dutch-French at the police station in ... Lokeren 😂
  • I told them I needed 40 minutes to reach the place (that's the time I need if I start at home), while I needed only 10 minutes, because I was not done yet with what I wanted to check in my car.
  • I arrived home around 21h30
  • My partner ... she wasn't happy!
Still worried about my profession? 🤔

I’ve been onto my account this morning and had a live chat enquiring about a production date. Reply as below
“as we have had a slower ramp up to production for our first vehicles, this has had a “knock on effect” to building your Grenadier “as a reply I thanked them but mentioned this was rather vague. Reply “I understand and we will give you an update soon with definitive information on your delivery status “
Just wish they would come up with the information soon so we know where we stand and are able to make plans.
I don’t mind waiting as long as I’ve got a rough idea of how long. If it’s a very long wait then I may need to get another car as temp measure until the Grenadier arrives

I had exact the same idea :D
And the same answer... Further I asked if the guy - Michael . could check in the order which engine was ordered. He told me, that he can't check the orders since they only have a crm system... I keep my fingers crossed...

@Jean Mercier, your new profession all sounds very interesting and clearly you are a gifted linguist (no jokes about him being cunning either, I know what you Brits are like).

You may have not seen it but I posted about IG’s having problems when being taken out of transport mode, and it was causing the problems yours is encountering. That is the second software update apparently.

I have also heard that they are still only knocking out about 45 vehicles a day at the factory. Which will clearly be slowing things down.

Am I the only one who is slowly but surly getting tired of waiting?
I have to admit that from time to time I think whether I should just quit my order.
Do I need a psychologist?

Further to my last message. We’ve just had an email back from our agent who says that our Grenadier has been built ! It is now going through the batch and hold process. one step closer 😎. My Ineos Grenadier account has never shown that the vehicle was in production only contract signed.

No, I didn't see it.
Thanks for the information, but this worries me!
Such a simple function has to be managed by software?
Well this means that we will have to rely a lot on the computers of our dealers, even when we are stuck in the middle of the desert

Will I like it? - Yep!

Assuming that order dates / contract dates / build status give a bit of an idea of time scale maybe it’s worth listing our current positions and then the next person copies and pastes then adds their details in the correct date sequence so we can see progress. It’s better than nothing.
If I’m being daft - tell me!

Richard

Name order date Contract signed Contacted after signing Current status
Will I like it? 18/05/2022 - 14.25 23/02/2023 Yes. Unknown

So is there an expectation from them (your dealer) that they need them (Ineos techie) to attend to make progress?
Well, I don't know. I read "here" on the forum that an Ineos technician had to pass by at the dealers, so I asked.
I should perhaps have asked: "do you need an Ineos technician to install the update?".
Next time. I have to be in the neighborhood next Wednesday. If I have time, I will jump in again. Probably they can't stand my face anymore!
