Sick of waiting

INEOS Styrolution Group GmbH is not the holding company of any of the Ineos Automotive companies, it's a completely separate entity.
But i think that is the company that the Ineos shareholders hold the shares in? Either way I think your contract is financial safe.

I just took my chance to call the IA hotline. I became more and more uncertain if everything is alright because I can not see my contract on the homepage anymore.
The lady from the callcenter told me that until yesterday the info for me would have been "we do not know when it will be delivered." From today on she could tell me that the deliver would be in March.
So I guess that is good news.
....or just another not reliable information...

I think it's different in some countries where the registration affects model year, but, that aside, at what point will IA make these 2024 MY? I think in the US they're calling them as such, but what about elsewhere?
In the UK vehicles registered after September 2023 become MY 24 (MY = model year)

but nevertheless its feels a bit dubious.

Do I get relieved by this comment about March or do I laugh or cry. Nobody has got their vehicle on the road yet, nobody truly knows when they are getting their vehicle or even a contract in a lot of cases but suddenly IA are going to deliver all the outstanding orders in Germany in just over 3 weeks time ???

I call BS and in my opinion this is another demonstration of how far down a rabbit hole and a mess they have somehow got into.

Some very strange things happening with that company.

I think it has been mentioned before - but Ineos sends a side letter to the contract by email, informing that all current contracts go out with a "by 30th June 2023" date - no matter whether deliveries are planned for March, April, May or June 2023.
I din't get an accompanying email like this??

Only a few days to go to Thurs 9th and we'll get the next episode of Soap...

Like all other manufacturers, they can't truthfully answer, there are so many variables that they have no control over. Suppliers, materials shortages the war in Ukraine ( in the UK the effects of Brexit) the push for carbon neutral, et al.
Before I ordered my grenadier I talked to Toyota and L/R, both said to be honest you're looking at 12 months. Even with IA worst case scenarios I think I'll still better the 12 months. So after I ordered I planned my life around a 12 month's delivery. If it comes any sooner it's a bonus, if not it's we are were we are.
I get that there are things that they have no control over, I’m not looking for a precise date. But I do need a rough idea on delivery, 4 weeks either side would do…

Neither did I, and I assume your contract was around 10 days ago. I think our German friends have had a bit added or because they are in a different batch, that’s why they are getting this extra info.

That is possible. I know that others in Germany received this accompanying email, who received and signed their contract last Friday, like I.

They may not have control over somethings BUT they do have control of their communications. This is the area that they need to improve. They are not setting customers expectations but being optimistic and trying to give the answer they think the customer wants to hear. As a say Toyota and L/R just said up front 12 months, customers expectations set, and if the beat that happy customers. IA are doing it arse about tit, and disappointing customers through out the process. Their Director of Communications needs to get a grip

This thread reminds me of Speed UTV and them bringing a new side by side to the market as a new manufacture. They had a lot of issues and setbacks, tons of delays. In the end they are starting to ship to customers. Speed UTV did a very small release to a handful of customers with their new cars and found a clip holding the wire harness would come loose. It was addressed with the few customers UTV's and were able to resolve it at their production facility before it goes out to the masses. The comments in this thread are very similar.
Ineos only has one shot as a new automobile manufacturer to get it right. If they release full off issues it could very well kill the brand and trust in their product in the consumers eyes. In my opinion any delays at this point would very likely benefit us the end user as frustrating and annoying as it may be. I'm sure Ineos being more open would ease some minds but I don't necessarily see a delay as a bad thing.

My thoughts exactly. They have one shot at this, and once people get their cars, they'll soon forget all about the delays

I don’t think most people mind the delays, I have said already numerous times on here that I can take the wait, in fact I am in no rush at all, but as many keep saying….it’s the communication that is the issue, differing messages, customer services who don’t know what’s going on, people being told they can’t change specs because they are locked (despite no contract), etc etc etc

If this had been about us waiting for a new model TV coming out from Sony, I can almost guarantee most people here would be watching a new Samsung TV by now !

It’s a new company in this sector and Covid, world shortages blah blah blah, but the one thing that IA have got control of is communication and customer services. There is NO excuse for that bit.

I think you will find that is what is irking people.

When we ordered there was talk of August delivery 2022, now I’m worried I won’t have it by August 23! There must be a serious issue as they’ll be really burning money now. Stock being produced, factory getting up to speed and no income plus a massive backlog of work.
