Sick of waiting

Hi,
My grenadier arrived at the dealer/agent just over a week ago.
This coincided with their demonstrator model being available for test drives.
So I was able to get out for an hour or so of test driving and also give my car a quick once over.
The only aspect of the test drive that seemed of note was the slightly odd steering as has been mentioned. It is as if it needs more castor angle or toe in but is easy to adjust driving style to suit., Although I am used to tractor machinery that had no feedback at all!
So the vehicle is now paid for and was prepped last week. There only remains the registration process to complete I believe.
The agent was not aware of any particular recall work apart from the software update which I have no doubt will be an ongoing thing.
I established that the car was built at the end of January. Exactly what has gone on with it between then and now is unknown.
It looks like I will not be ‘sick of waiting’ in the near future.

A
I did a 5 hour journey yesterday at speeds of up to 130kmh and once used to it, the steering is fine.

You can pick them up here normally in stock The 79 is a 2022 new delivery miles US$47,900 + shipping and duty form dubai

Thats a 4 door but they had some 2 doors with brown interiors a few weeks ago. They have some 76's station wagons at the moment as well for US$38,410

I do think IA misstepped in omitting traditional, analog speedo and gauges. Still could have placed them centrally to maintain the great driving view but I think they missed the mark there.
I think the problem is that no major part suppliers actually make them anymore.
Not even sure if the ZF gearbox allows for an analogue cable takeoff.

It's low speed turns that show the "feature" at it's worst ~ pulling out of a T junction, into traffic where you need to accelerate to a relatively high traffic speed quickly...

Agreed 100%. It's a design stuff up and I'll be getting a screen projected HUD to fix it. I believe a HUD is the safest way to view this info - street driving the wife's CX5 which has HUD: simply very good.

I was going to get one but the windscreen is too upright to project onto the screen
This means you need one with a screen
Unfortunately the steering wheel gets in the way unless you have your seat very low.
This means it would need to be to the right or left of the steering wheel, which gives exactly the same issue

Yep, that's why I won't order I've until I get a chance to review the optimal position. I would line to put my phone on an arm bit the traditional position on the left of wheel then obstructs the display... duck out and see it's the way forward!

IMO it's a design feature, but then again I'm not of the screen addicted generation , Gren forum excepted.
I can't recall ever driving a vehicle with Speedo in the centre console haha. I'm not willing to risk the safety of my child by scanning left to see what I am doing! But that is my reason to be honest.

The Mini 1959 to present, the speedo has remained in the console centre.

If one is "scanning" constantly as one should, and one's peripheral vision is as it should be, then there ought not be a problem. I have a theory, based on total prejudice and speculation learned in the philosophy Dept. at the Uni. of Betoota that some people become so fixated on their speedometer they cause traffic "incidents"....
