IMO it's a design feature, but then again I'm not of the screen addicted generation , Gren forum excepted.
One might even consider it a central design feature!... (or not:rolleyes: )
BTW... hoping to be on the Apple Isle for a week or so in a Scottish White Trialmaster 3rd week of August!

I can't recall ever driving a vehicle with Speedo in the centre console haha. I'm not willing to risk the safety of my child by scanning left to see what I am doing! But that is my reason to be honest.
I can judge my speed by the seat of my pants. And thus never have to glance down , I find that has kept me accident free for 43 years.

You can see the speedo when just looking straight ahead with a quick glance left, you don't even need to move your head.

Exactly the same as a quick glance down to look at the speedo in a normal vehicle.
so I assume you never glance at the side mirrors or rear view mirror
Never glance lovingly at your partner in the passenger seat
Never check any ancillary gauges or change the music.
Never turn your head to check the blind spot when changing lanes

If you are going too fast you crap yourself??
Only if I'm in Victoria , the Police State....
Or Queensland...or NSW...

Speed never worried me and I wisely decided not to take up car racing.
The fear is stopping suddenly , and the thought of posthumously receiving that oft repeated epitaph "He died doing what he loved" 🤨

Seriously that is a bigger overreaction than your footrest comments, and with respect, quite childish. The glance “left” is no more than the glance “down” to the guages in a traditional vehicle.
And certainly no more than the scan to your rear and side mirrors that you should be doing constantly when behind the wheel.

I will bet that it takes you less time to adjust to it than it does to the blinker being on the left stalk does for someone used to Japanese cars.

To call this a safety issue is simply ridiculous. HUD’s are safer than traditional dashes because you do not need to look down from the road. It is therefore a stronger argument that the location of the IG speedo is safer than a traditional one as you don’t need to look down from the road but only glance left at a similar height.

I think you are being totally out of control.
it is well known that if you glance away from straight ahead that your children will die.
It is scientifically proven and well documented.
I sneezed once and my grandparents passed away
They weren't even in the vehicle.

IMO it's a safer position than traditional, allows you to maintain your peripheral vision by not looking down. It's all the other info they throw in that can distract (kill) you. Thank christ for Carplay with voice activation for calls, nav, txt etc. I can even change the driver or psgr temps in the Jeep GC via voice - after 3yrs I still fumble for the damn manual controls. Too many bloody icons, buttons & dials.

Proper 3-pedal vehicle. Wish they made more that way, including the Gren.

You seem to hang on my comments waiting to 'respond' - it is cute. HUDs are safer - yes.. Like I said, this is 'my reason', and you need to read in context that it is my point of view and is therefore entirely valid to myself (and maybe others). You can try and 'shut down' valid concerns of prospective owners all you like - that would be the childish thing to do after all.

To all of you who are "Sick of waiting." You were supporting me while I've been frustrated during the last weeks. Finally now I got my car handed over and I wanted to be fair to give you an update on my first and lasting impression. I love it! I know it takes a long time and Ineos really has a serious problem with communicating with their customers, but for all of you still waiting I hope things will improve with every car delivered!
