Thanks for the reply, I was just curious. I have no issue with the "industrial look" but if you wouldn't mind....some spot weld porn would be nice 🙂

If my car ( maybe delivered today to the dealer ) would look like that, I would refuse to take it. Even a Series One Land Rover had a better build quality.
Good luck then, as they’re all the same from what I’ve seen. They were rolling 5 off a transporter as I was collecting mine this morning.

That's better!
Now don't be afraid to use a few expletives next time. We're all grown ups here , so we will understand and empathise with your situation.
Will do. You mean something along the lines of „not amused“, right?

In particular, the spot welds below the windscreen next to the badge look terrible. Those will be the first two rust holes in the future. How can quality control miss something like this? That should have been reworked.

I have never noticed the welding points, but indeed, I have them too, saw it on my pictures!
I don't mind: the car has to be good, not rusting, reliable ... only the future will tell.
And sure I will soon have some scratches, therefore the welding points are luxury imperfections.
[EDITED]: the painting has been done after welding, therefore I don't expect rust there!

Delivery handover was this morning..

“sick of waiting” has now become “worth waiting for”.

Steering takes a bit of getting used too but no complaints.. The vehicle has a ton of road presence and the cabin noise at 75 is a mix of road roar, drivel line whine and engine throb - a marvellous symphony to drive too. It’s not noisy and phone calls and conversation is similar to my 5 series.
Pretty much the same spec as mine and the brief details you give regarding the ride are exactly the sort of things we want to hear about.

Anyone who has had a recent email for payment off Ineos with the wording saying your vehicle is on the way to the agent….take it with a pinch of salt.

Speak to your agent and see what they say about delivery first. As IA are sending out the payment emails nice and early I have been told. In other words don’t expect it too soon!!

That’s from my in the know informant.

833kg payload for Aussie. That's ok - I'm slim so I don't chew in to it much like the FOBs! When we sign our contacts it should be the same one would think.

I got some more info today, they are still issuing contracts to reservation holders and have not yet started on the first orders. So in my case the information has changed. I’ve gone from Feb > March > April build to now don't know when build. Which although it sounds bad means that I now know that it won’t be here for the summer. It was worse not knowing what to do.

They can’t tell me how may contracts need to go out before mine does so I don’t know where I am in the queue. I’m not sure how long they held reservations for if reservation holders didn’t order immediately, so its really hard to tell. I placed my order a couple of days after the window opened, but its possible that reservation holders who ordered long after I did will be ahead in the queue.

The whole thing is a kick in the balls after being told I was a feb build but hey ho, it was the not knowing that was the real problem. Now I need to buy a stopgap vehicle… 5 seats, 3.5 ton tow and wont lose much value while I wait….
Any suggestions?

Edit: If anyone else is thinking about cancelling I’d take on your order…

Nissan Patrol.

ZD30 engine after 05 is a reliable old beast. They're basically on the way up now, so won't lose a penny if you buy the right one. Just watch for rust, they suffer

I have a Td6 Range Rover which will be ready for a new home in the next week or so. Tonga Green with tan leather, gearbox refurbished by Birch4x4 a fortnight ago, good history and a solid car. Drop me a PM if it’s of interest.

I feel your pain. I reserved late but ordered on day 1. I received my contract this week. If it makes you feel any better, I don't think I'll be signing it anyway. There are too many unanswered questions on the T&Cs for me to feel comfortable. I spoke with IA to try and get them to give me a back-stop on dates but they won't budge. Sign it, or don't......there's no discussion. Locking myself into a £70k car with no estimated delivery is, in my view, madness!!

If they’ll allow you to change spec I’ll happily take on your order, you can have mine, by the time that comes along things might be more straightforward in terms of delivery..

I have a working TD5 which will probably go away in some weeks. But you would not want a LHD, won’t you?
