Sick of waiting

Listen guys , there's far too much non "sick of waiting" banter happening recently. You aren't allowed to cheat bump the thread up to 200 pages.

Strike 1 :p
Very true. I‘ll get us back on track: it is now five weeks since I had to re-order my car which had been delivered to the dealer with minor faults such as the completely wrong colour. As of today nobody, neither IA reps nor my dealer, can tell me anything other about the status of my second order than that it was handled with „priority“. The obvious and, as one could assume, easy question of what would one have to understand of such „priority“ nobody is able to answer either. Nothing but empty words (except, to be fair, a model car which they gave to me to play with while I am waiting and I am grateful for that). I am beginning to take this personally after having been so patient and even putting down a second order with a second deposit solely on the basis of my trust that they will manage to cancel the first order and refund me (which, of course, went wrong at first as my second order was cancelled one day after making it rather than the first one, but that was fixed rather promptly). All in all, I find the care with which they handle their loyal customers comparable to the German Telekom and I think the Germans among us will know in which illustrious society IA finds itself there.

That's better!
Now don't be afraid to use a few expletives next time. We're all grown ups here , so we will understand and empathise with your situation.

Delivery handover was this morning..

“sick of waiting” has now become “worth waiting for”.

Steering takes a bit of getting used too but no complaints.. The vehicle has a ton of road presence and the cabin noise at 75 is a mix of road roar, drivel line whine and engine throb - a marvellous symphony to drive too. It’s not noisy and phone calls and conversation is similar to my 5 series.

Well done that man! Good things come to those who wait, patiently!

Great news mate - We expect a more detailed review of not less than 2000 words within the next hour or so.

Really good to hear this. Now if we can just get @Jean Mercier to pull his finger out and get his vehicle a lot will be good with this world. 🫰🏼

And 2000 pictures… 😂

Looks very nice. Good to hear your initial impressions. The 5-series is a big car - how does the Grenny feel in comparison on the road as they are both similar sizes (I'm thinking of placing it on the road)?

Chalk and cheese. The Gren is higher and you have to input more to drive it compared to the 5 series.
road manners are very impressive and on uk roads being so crap, it smooths over all the pot holes and uneven surfaces. its Also deceptively quick.. I set the speed alarm at 75 and gets triggered very easily if you don’t pay attattention. Pick up from 50mph is where the big diesel really impresses and I don’t want to really “give it some” until I’ve got at least 500 miles on it. In short, it’s quick.. Current mpg is 21.5 which is from a bit of dual lane and back lane work - akin to urban I guess.. I’m hoping for late 20’s on longer runs which I’ll be going on Tuesday with a 170 mile trip to one of my sites..

Nice!, just one question.....I have the same body build, are the spot welds OK, or wobbly like in the prototype? not that it really matters to me, but I had to ask,

Thanks - exactly what we all wanted to hear. MPG, is high, but we all knew that Ineos have not tried to hide the figures, but in some ways better than we all expected.

Hope to get mine soon, but maybe a shorter wait than yourself. ENJOY!

Thread is back on track and all’s right with the world! :giggle:

They all look fine to me. If you want invisible welds however you’ll be disappointed. You can see them and they’re not consistent, but I sort of buy in to that as part of the industrial patina. I grew up with land rover 110’s and 90’s and the door frame welds were always comically bad and in full view. I’d say that the spot welds on the rear panels are the most visible and “industrial” in their look.. if you want me to send you some spot weld “porn” picture in close up, just ask.
I should add that closing any of the doors, is like closing a safe…. They’re really solid in construction and the dual rubber seals mean you have to be positive in your action on closing them.

Thanks for the reply, I was just curious. I have no issue with the "industrial look" but if you wouldn't mind....some spot weld porn would be nice 🙂
