Interesting poll. I think I would have been surprised if there weren't some common issues. Looking at the percentages it very much reminds me of 2001/2002 Minis of which I was lucky enough to buy one. Like the Grenadier, it was a new design (clean sheet), built in a new factory, by a new workforce with new management. Everyone (probably over 80% like the grenadier according to your poll) had a multitude of quality control and design issues.
I really don't think it would worry me if there there were some issues as long as they were effectively resolved. The problem with the Mni was it was like whack a mole. As fast as you fixed them others popped up, and sometimes the original issues came back (multiple times). And eventually (I lasted 4 years) it became clear that it was never going to stop. Some things could be fixed, but other issues were baked in.
MINI resolved the production issues quite quickly. Cars built 18 months after production started were significantly better than the early ones. within two or three years they were trouble free like most cars. Unfortunately it didn't help the original owners who were stuck with the only choice being to continue to put up with the death by a thousand cuts or move the car on. It should be noted that MINI were astoundingly generous with warranty support, but you cant un-f@%# a total cluster.
I hope they resolve the grenadier issues quickly and the cars are trouble free. Personally while this poll is interesting I'll be more interested to see how many cars are trouble free at 12 months.
I don't think i'd have the confidence to spin the wheel and take a chance in the remote places I go.
