Pickup version spotted today in Graz

From what I read, after you posing the question on what is sail cloth made of these days, High-end laminate sail cloth provides the best option from not allowing overstretch, waterproof/water resistant, cost and durability. Down side is it is heavier but for us that wouldn't matter.

Not sure about the colour clash but would definitely help the marketing team with a "green" story. 😊

Interesting to see Grenny pick-ups loaded on transporter, I wonder where they're going - picture from FB

That’s one ugly arse end.

I'd started to think they'd put the Pickup on the back burner... obviously not!
As @DaveB has said, these pickups or UTE will sell like hit cake in Aus. I think in America there is an advantage if they can get around the chicken tax to bring it to market asap. Strike while iron is hot. They can work a deal to bolt on the tub or provide tub options and have Mercedes do the work in GA.

So how many of us are looking at the Ute/Pickup version , and thinking that it is a better fit for them over the Station Wagon?
Should I wait for the Ute???
My preference would be for a long-wheelbase (LWB) station wagon. So a vehicle similar in length to the ute, but fully enclosed like the wagon. It seems that Ineos hasn't mentioned a LWB wagon in a while, but it was part of the original plan.

Well the latest official word was it was 18 months down the track. Certainly doesn't look that way. Ineos certainly aren't sharing the story as they did with the stationwagon.

I think I've read them saying that's not on the cards... but now they're starting to behave like just about every normal vehicle manufacturer with regard to new product...

Post undeleted, maintaining thread narrative .

Maybe IG has realised, that the factory they got themselves can churn out 450.000 vehicles a year and making less than 50000 will inevitably lose money.

A substantial part of the industrial estate Europole Sarregumines Hambach 2, originally intended to accommodate suppliers to the Hambach factory, is being redeveloped by a Norwegian company to manufacture solar panels: The source in French:

The plan wouldbe to put an order in for it when you can and drive the Grenadier around until ute is available (3 years?) Then make a decision which one you want to keep and flog the other one off for at least as much as you paid for it.

I’m so surprised that more folks here aren’t just holding off and waiting for the Ute.
2+ years is a long time and Tech is changing too fast at the moment to warrant holding out, I think. I just want my Wagon now!

Fair point. I'll be waiting that time regardless for the wagons to just get here and I cannot see IA importing a pickup version here. It'll be way too expensive once the chicken tax is applied and regardless, the mid- and full-size pickup market in the US is its own beast.
