I am confident there will be a fix and will take delivery. If no fix comes, there's off-road mode for local roads, and the option to tear out the clicker. Not too worried as I left my lead foot behind when we brought our kids home from the hospital.
Hey, look, the US is set up for automobile use. Hardly any public transit, so we have lax laws that gives everyone the right to drive, easy access. I'm for these nannies because not everyone is a good driver, but they need to drive to get to work or buy groceries. Heck, even my elderly parents still drive, it will be great when self driving cars arrive as it'll lessen the burden on them. And me!Understandable.
My understanding is that each country / block of nations / etc create the standards for the vehicles imported. What goes for the EU would not necessarily mean it would be put on NA vehicles. That said there are numerous "nanny" warnings coming to US vehicles as that have been deemed "best" for the masses - disagree. If people driving would be more attentive to driving and less attentive to phones, eating, etc these annoyances would not be created. It amazes me that we have to have all these safety contraptions on cars to "prevent" crashes but the simplicity of requiring all turning lights to be amber and in a uniform location for driver awareness has never been implemented.
Seems like we may be able to thank the autonomous cars for some of these ....

Cars are being made more complicated with these devices - how many accidents have been caused by someone trying to change something annoying them by focusing on a screen, taking their eyes off the road ending up in an accident. And peoples thinking that with all these devices to prevent crashes that their cars are "self driving" which they are not!! Put down the phone and pay attention to driving. After all, you are operating something that has the potential to kill someone.
Same in Australia, My dad was a Mr Magoo even when he was young, he recently gave his licence up, now he is just a nuisance on his gofer ( motorised wheel chair ), and there are many more Mr and Mrs / Ms / They / Them Magoo's ( I had to include the current They and Them texting generation ) out there.Hey, look, the US is set up for automobile use. I'm amazed by the number of people threatening to cut bait over a speeding alert, and not total failure to deliver on a comprehensive service network.
One of these can be fixed with software and is likely just an oversight....
I know. This forum is gonna be crazy fun once people have to start getting service, repairs, and replacement parts. Hold on tightI'm amazed by the number of people threatening to cut bait over a speeding alert, and not total failure to deliver on a comprehensive service network.

First, I'm still going through with my purchase.I'm amazed by the number of people threatening to cut bait over a speeding alert, and not total failure to deliver on a comprehensive service network.

I hope that's not the case since they sourced so many of the things from places like BMW! I followed the RoW launch. Most of the issues were software related and they fixed them! As mentioned, I'm a FAN!I know. This forum is gonna be crazy fun once people have to start getting service, repairs, and replacement parts. Hold on tight
You mentioned saving turning it off as a favorite, how many menus do you have to go thru now?I am a fan and one of the first in the USA to write the big check fo the IG. It is great. I am a fan. The point of my bringing this to everyone's attention, is so it will be addressed sooner rather than later. This is not a simple button push is like 'Auto Start / Stop.' Until you experience it, it's hard to imagine. Hear me know, believe me later.
A governor preventing any vehicle from exceeding the speed limit?
Some of us here are old enough to remember when vehicles had a governor (US spec Ford Escort, circa 1988). Speedometer went up to 85 only. Cinquecento would pass me on the autostrada like I was standing still.
Rock Sliders. They look amazing BUT zero help getting in and out!are those the rock sliders or side steps ?
The service network is exactly what has been announced and talked about from Ineos Automotive US since the start of the year... Actually, there's one more dealer than initially expectedI'm amazed by the number of people threatening to cut bait over a speeding alert, and not total failure to deliver on a comprehensive service network.
So, start the vehicle, wait until it boots ) maybe 10 seconds), Push Favouites (sometimes twice), tap on screen for Over Speed, back to carplay, etc. Not in the car buy maybe 5. Not optimal but not as bad.You mentioned saving turning it off as a favorite, how many menus do you have to go thru now?
Thank you, I really appreciate it.So, start the vehicle, wait until it boots ) maybe 10 seconds), Push Favouites (sometimes twice), tap on screen for Over Speed, back to carplay, etc. Not in the car buy maybe 5. Not optimal but not as bad.
There is a warning chime when you step on eitherare those the rock sliders or side steps ?
That’s what I took it to mean. Understandable on the one hand, but not really doable in the real world. The only advantage I see to global firmware is that hopefully we’ll get a tool to hack it. Eventually you will get a feature sets that are not complimentary and actual antagonistic to each other based on regulatory scheme. This sounds like they do not have custom software for NA? Are they just shipping the trucks worldwide with EU software?
