OH NO (urban uncut modified Grenadier video)

I say embrace the whole story of Grenadier.

The "Lifestyle" model of the Grenadier is coming (2026?) because INEOS will sell more of them than the stock version, the company is full of G Wagen engineers and they make more profit.

Lighter, glossier, more bling & choice of everything

City cars won't even be using high beams!
Poseur value +++
Wait til Urban hack into the puddle lights...hook them up with some techno music .
I don’t mind the pod at all. The reason I didn’t order the INEOS roof light bar was that I don’t want a full length rack as I have Safari windows and the only way without it is a silly looking roof bar right at the front. The pod solves that problem, and yes I will be taking off road and using high beam

Same here. But no pod for me!

I didn't watch it to the end. When they showed up with the rear spoiler, I couldn't take it anymore.

Tasteless.
Chav design.

Toby Ecuyer would be turning in his grave.

🤮 💩
Agree with your sentiment, but my wife was watching it, and we discussed something similar as a potential mount for rear-facing flood lights, like would be mounted for camping / work lights. Not a spoiler per-se, but a low profile light pod maybe? I do like the idea of the forward mount low profile driving lights rather than the full width light bar and the height of the cross bars or roof rack. I'm not 100% sure what I'll end up getting, but I like the idea of having options.

Not a fan at all of the "footballer" style as it's called, (we'd have a much more offensive term used here for this style), but I do hope they come up with some more conservative items.

At the ned they said in Los would not be happy that he was sitting on the roof. This is a borrow not bit scenario. My gut feeling Ineos let them borrow it to start the process of aftermarket parts. Because they do so much with G wagon, they were able to move quickly with preexisting models.
Absolut 👍. Other companies do have their vehicles as well since months, don’t try?
I don’t remember all the names but I am sure there are at minimum two in Germany. Then the roof rack companies and the manufacturer accessories.

IMHO.... If the spoiler was functional and minimised dust settling on the rear doors/windows then it may have a purpose...otherwise👎
Yes ~ if done right then it can have a good effect here; but I suspect with Urban any such benefit will be purely accidental.

Yep ~ others busy scanning too:

I had same reaction....I was expecting the new defender stuff which I don't like. Worth watching just for the driving and also a production interior.

I had the same question about color....sometimes it looked like like donny grey with metallic but I think it is black but the reflections/camera give it a grey look....but I could be wrong.

Those spoilers attract dust and grime , then there are all the crevices around the back door - on a black car , it would be a pain.
If one was into cleaning and shining , that is.
Spoilers and wheel arch extensions actually reduce economy (and speed, not that the Ineos is a cheetah).
They made a wide body "turbo look" 911 in the 80s that was slower and used more fuel than the standard one - but looked "turbo"!

I thought the same but not at nearly £3000.

The two tube gave me the idea that maybe you could have a real rock slider and then pretty easy bolt-on/off second tube. Put it on for easy access around town, but you could take it off other scenarios...

DIdn't someone alude to small steps that attach to the rock sliders, but fold up for clearance?
I was thinking of building a ‘grandma step’ that would hook onto the rock slider and would then fold flat for stowage in the back. I can see that my in-laws and parents might struggle to get in otherwise.

The Benny Hill solution is free - and portable!

thier enthusism is infectious, and doing things to the vehicle that it wasn't designed for, style not for everyone but thank goodness there is variation in the world, Orwell still being kept at bay (in some countries at least).

What I don’t understand is why are all these companies scanning when Ineos should be providing open source industry standard 3D models? Maybe they are not ready yet or only available to select companies under agreements for the time being.
True, noting that for fab shops like these guys the LIDAR scan (a point cloud) offers precise as-built dimensional accuracy for the vehicle which a part will be fitted to and is worth doing even if you have the CAD model.

Yes and it will be very interesting to see how accurate and precise the completed vehicles are. In Aus it would be great if Auto Innovation Centre (AIC) can get a vehicle as from what I’ve seen they provide the best detail models that are fit for purpose.

I guess it depends what one is trying to do. If one is just fabricating drawers for example, a sufficiently accurate scan can be captured with an iPhone, although you’ll need to use a measuring tape fo confirm scale/accuracy in your modelling app. I’ll post a point cloud/wireframe of the loadspace if someone doesn’t do so first, once I get the thing.

Playing around with renders would obviously require specialist kit, but again not crucial when the car is right there.
