Was it just me, or did you guys get some vibe around possible engine alternatives? Maybe she was just being coy so BMW didn’t think they had a total lock, but it was just like “meh - they’re a supplier. Lotta options out there.”Sounds like the transmission lever may get a revisit, too.
For as openly communicative as she seems to be, the company certainly takes an orthogonal approach in terms of direct & open communication to its customers.I am very impressed with Lynn. Yes doesn’t seem the typical corporate automotive CEO which is refreshing.
I read her response as being more along the lines that Ineos is not beholden to the software used by BMW. She even pointed out that the ZF transmission was a choice made by Ineos rather than being dictated by BMW's use. She did mention that Ineos is always looking at future options as necessitated by upcoming legislation. Need a button fitted and labelled 'Old School'.ADAS is not actually required in the UK. The EU law was never ratified here. So, if they really wanted, they could remove it for the UK market too. They won't but they could.... but they wont....
We bought another new car post ADAS and that is less "noisy" and instrusive than the IG and to turn off, you just press and hold a button on the steering wheel for a couple of seconds. Ineos over did the ADAS
