I think there is quite a lot about Ineos that isn’t your usual corporate stuff. I’ve done some work with the petrochemical side of the business and they’re “different”.

There’s a book? 🤔😂
Grit, Rigour & Humour: The INEOS Story
Book by Jim Ratcliffe, Patrick Barclay, and Quentin Willson

"With an opening chapter by Sir Jim Ratcliffe
To mark the 25th Anniversary of the founding of INEOS in 1998, seven leading specialist authors explore the main strands of INEOS's business, including its core chemical business to its ventures into sport, automotive, consumer goods, sustainability, next generation and philanthropy.

* Dominic O'Connell on INEOS' core petrochemicals and energy business
* Patrick Barclay on INEOS's involvement in sport from the America's Cup to cycling, athletics to Formula 1 and football
* Quentin Willson on the building of the Grenadier from scratch in response to the demise of the Land Rover Defender
* Steph McGovern on INEOS' move into the consumer goods sector with brands such as Belstaff and INEOS Hygienics, so vital during the pandemic
* Sean Keach on INEOS' journey to Net Zero and sustainable investment
* Lord Sebastian Coe on the vital importance of exercise for the next generation, with a particular focus on INEOS's worldwide children's exercise initiative, 'The Daily Mile', and the 'Forgotten 40', the 40% of the UK's young who are affected by a lack of basic resources to remain fit and healthy
* Sir Andrew Likierman on INEOS' philanthropic projects and investments

Grit, Rigour & Humour offers an extraordinary and balanced insight into the rise of one of the world's most successful companies, which produces the essential building blocks used in most of the products you use daily from medical products and packaging to electronics and transport, and has expanded rapidly over the past decade into one with interests in many diverse walks of life."

Sounds like the transmission lever may get a revisit, too.
Was it just me, or did you guys get some vibe around possible engine alternatives? Maybe she was just being coy so BMW didn’t think they had a total lock, but it was just like “meh - they’re a supplier. Lotta options out there.”

I am very impressed with Lynn. Yes doesn’t seem the typical corporate automotive CEO which is refreshing.
For as openly communicative as she seems to be, the company certainly takes an orthogonal approach in terms of direct & open communication to its customers.

Which one is the facade?

I read her response as being more along the lines that Ineos is not beholden to the software used by BMW. She even pointed out that the ZF transmission was a choice made by Ineos rather than being dictated by BMW's use. She did mention that Ineos is always looking at future options as necessitated by upcoming legislation. She also mentioned a one off V-8 they built…

ADAS is not actually required in the UK. The EU law was never ratified here. So, if they really wanted, they could remove it for the UK market too. They won't but they could.... but they wont....

We bought another new car post ADAS and that is less "noisy" and instrusive than the IG and to turn off, you just press and hold a button on the steering wheel for a couple of seconds. Ineos over did the ADAS
Need a button fitted and labelled 'Old School'.

I'm about halfway through and I have to say, she's very likeable. She hasn't dodged any questions, has been honest as far as I can tell, and admittedly, I'm a sucker for women with a Scottish accent.

If she actually Runs the company the way she speaks in the interview Ineos may turn a corner. If she says one thing and than behind boardroom doors does otherwise than we will continue to see no change.
I do like her frankness and what looks to be honest dialogue. Time will tell.

God damn.. adas clicks I can deal with.. what about the power steering whine?!

HVAC that produces no heat, or if there is heat, it’s accompanied by a whistle..

Those other issues, there are no workarounds..
The HVAC Heat issue is the ECU that is 100% a software issue that needs to be fixed & addressed she should know that.

I thought cel issue had already been solved? There are other outstanding cel software issues?
Service manager told me the CES resolution update went up to certain VIN #'s and mine was not included (at least that's the load of goods I was given as the rationale). 😎

I'm not affected but the service manager told me the same thing when I had mine in for an oil change (he asked me if I had ever had the problem, which I have not seen on my car).
