Grenadier vs 2024 Land Cruiser

Speaking of words, I always thought Landcruiser was a soft name for a hardcore offroad car.
And Prado means a meadow in Spanish.
At least "Grenadier" can't be misconstrued , except those who feel it will grenade itself. Because , you know "BMW"...

Announcer guy just said "fit for purpose" when speaking about the new LC/Prado. interesting.

Should be able to reveal via this link:

Wow,

And the 70 Series has been modernised - that's the BIG story here. EDIT - if it comes out with a 2.8L 4 cyl then blaaahh.

IF they have built a robust Prado (as in where it counts, not just the pretty stuff), then at least now I have two things to fall back on if the Ineos Grenadier dream turns sour.
I hope it doesn't, but that looks like a solid exit strategy to me.
Interesting to see the detail when it is released.

I no longer need anything as big as a 300 Series, but I wanted something as, or more solid that the 200.

Of course the proof will be in the pudding, a bit like the Ineos to be honest.

Just watched the Land Cruiser launch video. The presenter described the hybrid power as “the chance to participate the journey towards carbon neutrality” which is a particularly garish statement.
Please tell me why I can’t buy the Land Cruiser 300 in NA?

Sounds like nobody can buy the 300 series, 2 year wait in Japan??

Not anymore - that might be what they are telling people, but a mate of mine just got one within 6 months. And a GR - the most sort after.

This is why the Grenadier HAS to be bulletproof (and needs to get on top of its early foibles). If it isn't it will be left by the wayside in my view.

He was probably lucky enough to get a cancelled order.
Still $150K is a lot of money
So is $144k Dave. OK, you need to add a bit to the Cruiser still, but it also has a lot your IG spec doesn't.
Not sure about his order, he says it was just made more quickly, but who knows.

Seems like a bust to me. Nice looking, but smaller than 200 series, 4 cylinder engine, electric steering-never heard of that. If it had the turbo V6 I would look at it. Will still go with the Grenadier.
