Does,
The NEW Prado (think it's the 250 series internationally, right?) set for Australia is coming with a $10K price rise over the outgoing model... so the GX here (base model) will be nearly $80K AUD listing price, but, given demand for the new Prado is very high we can probably expect to see the GX start at $85K... because Australia likes face lifted old tech vehicles!!!
$85K for a face lifted Prado is hilarious and you still get the ancient 2.8L diesel, and that 48V "mild hybrid" system - what that is... is a scam!
The Grenadier is just miles apart from the 250 series in so many aspects. The 250 will suit people who want the big-truck look but really just want to mall-crawl - from what I have seen of just about every Prado owner I ever met - its a pretty safe bet

The new Prado shares the same chassis as the LC300 and for many buyers will be the less risky purchase compared to a Grenadier with LC250 available with 7 seats, being more family orientated and dealer access being relatively easy, these alone are bigger selling points over a vehicles perceived and rarely used full capabilities. The 1GD 2.8l diesel is just as ancient as the B68 B67 engine and the ZF transmission has been around for a decade but Toyota has the advantage of being more accessable for diagnostics and parts then BMW, at least in Australia.
There will be plenty of mall crawling Grenadiers there for the Prado LC250 owners to envy. LC Prado owners will have the cars historic trends to benchmark against for resale after 5 years and that is very important to family buyers. The Ineos is still an unknown vehicle and historically in Australia luxury European vehicles have had higher depreciation compared to Japanese vehicles and tend to be more expensive to repair out of warranty.
A bit of a negative comment but the truth is the LC250 will be a difficult vehicle for Grenadier to compete against and will be taking Grenadier customers.
