Americas Grenadier Snorkel Issue?

An 1100mm wading depth?
Post the footage when it happens!

Here is a thought.. Not meant turning the IG into s submarine. Is it possible to feed a tube through from the airbox, inside the fender, to the RAI. Objective is to reduce the probability water ingestion to the intake and give us a few inches or possibility even a foot extra margin for the unintended deeper than expected water crossing....
Not sure I could do it, but I'm sure someone will improve on the current set up.
I have sent further photos to dealer for comparison to what they have in stock. They have agreed to raise it with Ineos.
I have no complaint about service I have received.

Seeing as someone had lost the vent from the RAI I took to mine with a couple of dabs of Sikaflex, that "should " work

Is there anyone in the forum who has made progress here? I would also be interested in achieving increased protection against liquid entering the air filter box.
From what I can tell.. It is "one tube" from the air-box inlet to the RAI inlet. Unfortunately I have not had the chance to check if this tube has any drain hole along the way... I think we need to open the wheel fender lining for better inspection

The drain is at the fender inlet

Like a check valve? Or a ball float? I think you have about zero chance of making something reliable enough without regular PM to risk your engine. The only solution for a snorkel is to seal it and the best top is a cyclonic. Which was an option.
It should have a one way type arrangement underneath, but when I opened it up I didn't look

i can't watch the video, says it's a private video. i believe you need to make it public in youtube
The video was made by John @ Owl Vans/Off road, not the OP and has since been pulled

Well now I’m curious. What was the video about?
Read through the first page of the thread and you can figure out what was said (y)

This is the drain hole I am aware of.... Put snake camera through the tube, and didn't see any hole... Need to figure out how to push the RAI tightly against the fender, thats next task..

It has a "duck bill" type of valve, allows for water/small debris to exit similar to what Toyota has on the 200 series

I took off the tyre, then the flare on the outside. Then I removed the inner plastic arch liner. The intake runs on top inside the guard. I still didn't have access. It's a wide flat tube the forms the intake.
I couldn't see how I could improve my intake, given that it doesn't seat well against the side of my car.
The hardest bit was the plastic plugs, you have to pull hard (scary) to get them off.
Then use a 6mm (I think) ring spanner to help close the plugs and assist re insertion. I got that to from here somewhere

The idea with the 6 mm tensioner came from me. Since the dowels often get stuck in the fender when the fender flares are removed, it is easier to unlock them from behind with the ring spanner instead of prying them out with a screwdriver and damaging them in the process.

The small rubber valve on the bottom of the inner RAI is called a "vactuator valve" . See the description how it works.
