Australasia Grenadier Delivery & Wait Times in Australia.

from another thread:

I presume @Tom D was an existing order holder, who got moved up the queue (and paid pre-rise price)?
Yes, if I ever get my hands on it. As I was already in the queue, they were happy to stick with the original prices.

Do you really think there are that many cancellations? I'd be surprised if it's significant.
I'm about to cancel I think. With owners now reporting different issues I think there'll be more stepping back who haven't signed. I ordered Feb and production was pegged Jul/Aug. No contract as yet but expecting it soon. My thinking is reorder the minute I get the deposit refunded. This of course would push delivery out to maybe the 2nd qtr or mid next year, which I'm fine with. This way Ineos should have ironed out a lot of the bugs. For $128k I'd rather wait and have a better product. l'll see what happens with the Oz deliveries over the next month or so and decide then.

Not a bad idea I reckon, particularly if you were paying the top dollar anyway.
My gut feel is that there will probably be a few guys out there who paid the deposit, who now probably cannot afford the car, so they will be keen to just flip the car for what it cost them, so they don't lose their $5K deposit. So you may be able to pick one up for the old cost, and then pay the stamp duty again - but you will still be in front of what you were paying - albeit losing a bit of choice of options.

Don't think so. I however do think you look good in your Elentra! It suits you ;)
Elantra??

I dropped into Ignition Car Centre in Brisbane during the week and was interested to see the body protection and wrap options they have.

Ok havenā€™t seen that before, interesting. Not unusually for dealers you pay for convenience as there is a solid margin for all that in there. I am also not sure I trust that for example with the ceramic coating they do a proper paint correction first. I have already had my guy who I know and trust will do a fabulous job qoute me $1800 for a high end ceramic including paint correction. The wrapping and PPF seems particularly expensive. Looks like a proper INEOS branding, wonder if it is at all agents or an Ignition special?

From memory they said the wrapping was done by an outside specialist company and the ceramic coating was done by their employee who was trained and certified by the ceramic supplier.

Sure, and thatā€™s likely why the wrapping is so expensive because there are two margins on it. As for ceramic coating, it is one thing to just apply the coating correctly to the paint out of the factory which they probably do. It is another to properly prepare and correct the fine swirls and scratches that inevitably come even on newly delivered cars before you coat it.

It's Ignition's own 'promotion' for the Grenadier ...
