Thanks - will get the fuel tank low and light going to refill and then try clearing the code again. I was in the middle of a road trip when happened so had to refill with the code still, but will try again before the next fill up.

Just needs to be down a touch. Word of warning sometimes you reset it and the Check engine light is cleared but not the Triangle in the telltale, you need to let the vehicle go to sleep to clear it.

I was able to borrow another code reader which cleared the code -- but, reading @IslandFalconer this now, it may have been just enough drive time between attempts that the fuel level had dropped enough. I have not seen the code since --- it's only happened the one time.

Check the firmware version. The latest software version is SW0000000773003070.
Check with your dealer - I had mine in for service last week and they detected the fuel level plausibility stored code* which they said gives them (IA) permission to perform TSB 003368.
