You have to get the fuel tank level down, drive it for 30 minutes than clear the code.
I can do it with almost all my OBD tools. I keep a OBD Link CX in the truck. It works
Thanks - will get the fuel tank low and light going to refill and then try clearing the code again. I was in the middle of a road trip when happened so had to refill with the code still, but will try again before the next fill up.

Just needs to be down a touch. Word of warning sometimes you reset it and the Check engine light is cleared but not the Triangle in the telltale, you need to let the vehicle go to sleep to clear it.

What was the outcome of this ? So far I’m on the same route. Obd2 reader confirmed fuel and triggered power steering. Says it cleared but when vehicle turned on, still throwing error.

Attempted to reclear and let vehicle sit now…
I was able to borrow another code reader which cleared the code -- but, reading @IslandFalconer this now, it may have been just enough drive time between attempts that the fuel level had dropped enough. I have not seen the code since --- it's only happened the one time.

I got this error and the CEL yesterday after a fill up. First time in the 2,500 miles that I have had the car. I think I did top off but don't actually remember. This morning I cleared the code in under a minute with an old code reader I had laying around. The reader is a Actron CP9125 and will now live in the car if needed again.

I haven't read through this entire thread, but the fuel level software update was released several weeks ago. Dealerships will load it t for you if you have a CEL.

I took delivery on line October 2. 1165 miles - stopped to fill up. Did not overfill it but check engine light on after fill up. That’s one of the reasons I bought this thing - my BMW M5 throwing check engine light and limp mode almost every time I drive it now so this is incredibly disappointing. Tried to clear the fault with my BluDriver OBD plug in but no luck.
