Brown Davis or Long Range Automotive?

As someone considering the INEOS who currently is a Defender owner this would be something I would want. I did notice that it is not CA legal due to emissions. This is the only area I see the Defender with a better solution. They have a replacement for the existing tank that is just twice as big. Goes in the same spot. Seems like there was room there.

If I change to an INEOS this topic is very interesting to me since I have a teardrop and the range towing is not great.

Did anybody know if someone installed it already? The LRA I mean, can’t find any private video or photo online. I want one but I want to see if they have problems and how loud the truck becomes without muffler

This guy on Reddit is getting it installed and has posted some pics. He had it sprayed with Truck bed liner before installing to help it blend in ($200), which seems like a good idea:

In California the same issue will exist, aftermarket replacement tanks are also not allowed

I have a very good friend who has avoided this issue with is heavily modified diesel F350/Excursion beast. He has it notified DMV that it is garaged in a one of the zip codes that doesn't require smog tests every 2 years. He literally pulled a random address from google maps and then has his mailing address at his home. Here is a link to the zip codes that only require smog on change of ownership.

I wish I could get an auxiliary petrol tank in the UK. Long Range America don’t ship to the UK and I can’t find anybody willing to ship one in for me.

Perhaps it's time to put it on a ship across the ocean :) We have some pretty cool sights to see as well!

Hi @Logsplitter

Have you contacted Long Range Automotive in Australia?
They make the tanks in Melbourne and ship to other countries including LRA in America. They have distributors in Europe.

I’ll try them. Last time I checked there was no version that had been tested and approved for the petrol model. That must have changed if they are shipping to the USA. Thanks 👍🏼
Edit. Just checked out the website and yes a version for the petrol model. Another 90l. I will contact to see how I can get to the uk. 👍🏼

A very prompt reply from long range automotive in Australia. They can supply and ship to the UK but I need a customs broker to deal with the import. Just trying a few contacts now to see who can help me with that. Looks promising though 👍🏼. If anyone else in the UK is considering a Long Range Automotive auxiliary tank then get in touch as maybe we can ship a few on the one consignment from Australia.

Price seems reasonable to me. Obviously have to add import charges and UK VAT
If I can make this work then a lifting roof conversion is on the cards. 😍

A$2K is about a weeks' worth of lunch money in GBP. Good luck with the customs and import.

Agree regarding checking with LRA. The other day they shipped a container of ineos tanks to America and i beleive they were all petroleum.
On another issue is I can’t believe how much better it drives with no rear muffler and no extra noise. Seems to breath a lot better

Wow, considerably cheaper than the US pricing... Of course, I understand the US pricing incorporates shipping to the US as well... The US price including the tailpipe section is ~$4415AUD
