Thread lightly has become my motto when it comes to choosing words...
Yes. Be nimble. Or should that be thimble? 🤓
Us stereotypical male heteronormative cisgendered omnivorous types just need to chill 😄

It’s funny you said this bc when I was writing this thread I was thinking — should I put gender? Should I put sex? Am I supposed to do both? Should I google it? Is it wrong to ask this? Will people think I’m asking this for some reason other than curiosity?

And the answer to every question is I don’t know lol. These days I don’t know what to say sometimes when it comes to stuff like this bc I worry that what I knew was acceptable yesterday is no longer relevant.

No stress, while language is fluid "gender" is a part of the US English language that has been co-opted by the woke. That isn't a critiicism of woke folk it is just inaacurate. For for simplification the male sex has an outie and the female sex has not an outie.

Unless or until there is a quantum shift in biology (females creating offspring with females and males creating offspring with males) we will only have two sexes male or female.

The latin based languages provide an easier path with respect to what is called gender by assigning an O to the end of masculine or male tenses of speach and an A to female tenses of speech as in Latino or Latina.

Looks lovely. Where is the pint? It really calls for a pint!

Or is that heteronormative on my part? Can you tell I'm doing my best to bring the topic of sex err I meant gender, back on track... 😁

You mean us normal Aussie blokes who know we're blokes, chillin' with a meat pie and mushy peas (y)
Nothing normal about spoiling a perfectly good pie with peas mushed or otherwise…. 🤮

Humour is good. Gender conversations are interesting but can be convolute. People are what really matters. Good manners and acceptance of diversity are essential. There is zero need to be unkind or deprecating about another’s outlook or belief system.

QED.

NICE!! Besides cars/trucks/suvs, food is my jam (see what I did there? 🙃). Excuse my lack of knowledge, but I am in the USA, is this like a “pot pie” (if you understand what I am asking)? Wish you took another pic once it was cut so we could see the inside. It’s 3am where I am and now you done got me hungry for a late night snack. Dang it!!

Btw, 4 pages in and STILL ONLY 1 FEMALE vote. Are there really that few? 🤷‍♂️

Yes it's a round pastry box, full of scallops in a creamy sauce. The cafe doesn't always do the scallop ones. But they have a few tasty alternatives

It's a map of Tasmania, the island upon which I live. Although today I am at our shack on North Bruny Island.

I had to Google that and I be damn if it ain’t so. Pretty neat that was baked into that dish.

Ok, this is pretty CRAZY, but 2 guys discussing cooking/food on a thread started by a female asking gender ownership of Grenadiers. You can’t make this stuff up!!

Mmmmm a pie floater! I’m off to Adelaide tomorrow, the home of the floater, so I’ll see if I can find an eatery that serves this South Australian delight. Unfortunately the pie carts (and the spoons chained to the side of the cart) are long gone.

I’m also enjoying readin the back and forth banter in this thread. These threads while not technically focused add a lot of richness to the forum. May they continue.

Cheers
Steve
