How to disable interior lamps?

I was hoping I can disable the interior LED lamps, such that when I open the door, it would remain dark. I don't like the blast of light when out camping. I haven't found a way to disable the lights. In my previous cars, there were typically Off - Door - On settings. I would just leave the dome lights in "Off" mode.

I'd have to check when I get back in the vehicle, but I'm sure that is an option on the overhead switch panel. (23 UK spec)

There should be a switch in the overhead console between the switches for the right and left reading lights. In my memory it shows a pictoram of a car with an open door. That should switch all lights off even when the doors are open. But I don’t know whether it’s working for the back doors too.

Works only for driver and passenger.
Not for rear and cargo

That is not right. It works for front and rear but not for the trunk.

Thank you! I eventually realized this as well.

However when opening Fargo doors, all interior lights turn on.

In also realized with all door open or close events, the center screen would turn on. Undesirable battery drain as well as lights that I do not desire in a dark situation.

In my car the cargo door only puts on the cargo light when the others are switched of. I will try to mount a switch there and another light recabeled from the stock one under the Bison Gear rack. This new light can be switched to red light so it will be not that easy to see from far away and from the most animal while hunting.
Anyway the drain with open doors still is a problem as the system seems to wake up every time a door is opened (probably to be ready when the driver wants to start…)

I assume this is the strategy ineos has taken to “prime” the software so that the vehicle can meet the legal requirement for “time to rear camera availability”.

If the hardware + software is not performant in their initialization, ineos has to do hacky stuff like turning on the system preemptive upon door open, to give itself more time for system boot up .

I did take this thread as a nudge to start installing my new light in the cargo area.
I purchased a flat LED light from Amazon
(https://www.amazon.de/gp/aw/d/B0BK8BYJ7L?tag=globalgrena0b-20)

I took out the original light and cut the cable. Then I crimped normal plugs on each side, so I can reconnect the old light if I want to.
I pulled the plastic cover over the lock down on its “motor” side. It cones out there easily. The “exhaust” side is still fixed at the height of the door sealing.
I pushed a speakers wire from the hole of the original light to the plastic cover (under the roof lining)
One hole for the new lights cables in the plastic cover, two screws as well, three more sets of crimped plugs (new light and speakers wire on both sides) and everything has been finished.
I build in my Bison Gear rack and everything is perfect!
The light is dimmable, can be switched to red and switched off. It doesn’t shine out in your eyes as the plastic cover is bend inwards and hides it from outside (at least for my height) on the other side it gives plenty of light under the rack as well.

People with slide out platforms or the fold down table on the 70 door - What's the strategy on minimizing battery depletion or light pollution? How are you disabling the interior lights when keeping the rear door for extended period of time?

Ok I wasn’t sure if this the accepted norm. Searching in the forum and on YouTube reveals very little info’s. Perhaps there is a built in timeout on the dome lights(The manual doesn’t mention this), and owners are just dealing with that, instead of the more drastic approach you took?

I tested the lighting last night. If you leave the small rear door open, the cargo area light will extinguish after a few minutes when the vehicle "goes back to sleep".

Ok I tested as well today. It looks like either rear doors trigger a 10 mins dome light timer.

I’d really like to work out how to reduce the dome light timer in the cargo & rear seating areas. Or better yet, put them on a switch in order to disable them completely while you’re camping.

A nice solution might be to wire in a small motion sensor, typical ones like this would keep the light illuminated for about 30 seconds. No longer term current drain as the sensor would only be active in the 10 minute window.
