Thanks! I had the discussion with my wife of my plan to buy new tires (tyres) upon delivery and explained it would be easier to sell them with minimal miles rather than driving home nearly 900 miles before swapping them out, and she agreed.

So, at her request to wait until we know the exact price of the G, I just have to wait a bit longer to get the Grenadier before adding a few thousand CHF to Thomas' @Black Sheep bank account with my purchase of a light bar, molle panels, side carrier mount, Maxtrax mounts and a CTEK mount.

Then, I think all I'll have left to get will be the LeTech jerry can ladder, ARB air compressor and Indeflate setup.

Fitted the buzz overland slider / steps today. Easy to fit. They look great. Although I need to remember to use them, I keep getting in and out without touching them, I’ve just got used to it without them. They’ll be handy for passengers though. And sooner or later I’ll test the slider aspect. They are light and strong which is important. I think the factory ones are much heavier. Too heavy IMO.

I love these Buzz rock sliders but like you, I keep forgetting to use them having spent several months without.

Just got back to the mail, after 2 weeks in New Zealand, where the roads are great and National Parks are free.
In Tasmania, the fuel is cheaper but the roads are bad and National Parks incur a fee.
On the right is my new annual Parks pass , on the left my new Bruny Island ferry shackowners discount sticker. Saves $16 per trip.
So it all kinda balances out.
N.B. there really isn't any more room for stickers on the tiny Grenadier window!

Got you cover, most airlines allow you to fly ski free. Bring a ski bag, load up the sliders and fly home.

The fuel cap cover drops a couple of millimetres towards the back of the car and doesn't follow the wheel arch.

I have been working out a way to line up the Fuel cap cover...being a designer things in my brain have to line up as they were made to...It has annoyed me since I saw the prototypes and thought that would be sorted by the time it's in production...
I got back from my O/S jaunt today and had a look at the filler door. It's all rather plasticky and doesn't even clip on properly - the hot sun will make it worse over time I suspect.
The housing for the latch pin is the problem - no adjustability. Perhaps a little plastic weld in the top of the receiving notch may prevent the droop.
Whilst we are on the plastic flimsy brittle theme , if someone makes a metal licence plate winch cover to replace the plastic one (the pull out and lift up frame) supplied , I'd be interested. A small bird strike or branch will likely wipe this mechanism out.

Went to a friend of mine to add some foil. The letter A in reflective on the hood and Kevlar foil for protection. Not planning to climb up this way 🪜. Back door, the letter A in reflective and transparent foil for protection.

A fun little video showing 4 vehicles attempting the same hill. Note the differences between live axles and independent suspension. To be fair, the Subaru was an older model without sophisticated traction control.

My aim was to do the hill without the aid of momentum, keeping all 4 wheels on the ground. That’s code for “I’m a slow driver”. 🙂

Hello DaBull
The fastening rings are fixed to the frame. The compressor is attached in place of the right-hand ring. This requires a spacer block to compensate for the recess.
This spacer block is welded to the base plate of the compressor. The twin compressor is then attached to the side of the base plate using 8 screws.
For the power, I ran the wiring harness from the auxiliary battery to the compressor. We also replaced the (ugly) switch supplied and constructed a new air connection.

Cheap fix for the sensitive little panic alarm.
Either flood the button with a largw amount of superglue or dig around for a stainless washer and a careful, lesser amount amount of superglue.

Yesterday I was driving with the Grenadier in a forest I didn't know and actually got lost. The paths were very soggy from all the rain and, together with the leaves, it was very slippery. I was only driving in low and on a steep slope I couldn't go any further. I then made progress again using the centre differential lock alone. Really impressive, even if I then had to turn round again. I couldn't remember the hunting tenant's explanation. He had given me permission to drive through the forest. I had only got to know him that evening in his guesthouse. When I have time again, I'll try again. He didn't know the Grenadier and wanted me to have some fun with the vehicle. If I didn't get any further, he would have fetched his Unimog or tractor.

Fitted an Ultimate9 50" light bar over the weekend on the Front Runner3/4 roof rack (space is running out now)

Between the with the solar panel asking up the right hand front quadrant, the awning left side, the high lift jack and fold down mount for the UHF 2.2dB aerial when I move it from my jeep next week and the shovel holder on the back, the double jerry can holder and the maxtrax it's getting busy leaving one spot left for the 6th wheel or the swag

And with caravan tow-test with the 3-3.5 tonne van 150kg bar weight as hooked up (normally run about 180kg) (It's a Retreat ERV - all electric van very heavy round the twin axel wheel base with the battery pack, airbag suspension and air cylinder, water tanks and 12" disk breaks and hydraulics fir that) on a DO45 hitch
