Quickly back on topic: Wolfbox sell a centre console base bracket that might be adaptable to one of the dash mounting rail systems. It won't be tall enough to sit behind the infotainment screen but would sit nicely on the space above the telltale panel.I refer to my wolfbox as the “Strap-On”…as I used the straps to mount to the existing mirror. Works well for me but I am considering mounting the mirror so that it is just above the infotainment system which would still allow me use of the OEM rearview mirror while giving a better field of view for the forward camera (no interference from the ADAS box).
Yes, the 15mm Adapter with the supplied connector should work, though you may find 'adjustability' to be limited.
I kind of like your idea of where to mount, hmmm, wonder if anyone has done this! Stop giving me ideas and options lol!I refer to my wolfbox as the “Strap-On”…as I used the straps to mount to the existing mirror. Correct. I spoke with the service mgr. at Curry about my idea. He indicated that it would be very easy to mount it there and we both agreed that it would be best to use some arm mount that is screwed/bolted to the enclosure behind the infotainment screen. This would definitely make the Wolf box as an accessory rather than a primary piece of equipment. He also indicated that it might be possible to wire under the dash to hide the wires.I kind of like your idea of where to mount, hmmm, wonder if anyone has done this! I’ve never had a dashcam but I assume they’re mounted, duh, to the dash — so it’s more supplemental in nature bc you leave mirror in place and have both. So your idea is more like that correct?
You can use this location only for the the yellow wire. use a fuse tap 7.5 on the left. This fuse location are the fuses that are always on.Been looking at andyt post about where to wire up the the wolfbox, what he says is completely different to the manual I have downloaded for my car , anyone able to help?

It looks like that base might be reversible (whether or not Wolfbox intended that) which might give you the angle and height needed to mount behind the touchscreen with another plate or rail. i.e. Reverse the hinge if the pin or set screws cooperate. Just speculating.Quickly back on topic: Wolfbox sell a centre console base bracket that might be adaptable to one of the dash mounting rail systems. Hi korg,As a footnote to your great work, the reverse light can be easily tapped into as per the following photos:
Hey @Aaron B, sorry for the radio silence buy i literally just saw your question directed at me. Feel free to DM me or use the "@" sign in front of my user ID and I'll get notified that someone mentioned me. Anyway...my original install post listed the fuse slots I used. Here is the relevant section, "the switched circuit (a/k/a ACC) is the one at the top right (FC21-12V Front Outlet) with the pigtail going to the right. Note: the power source side of the circuit is on the left side of the fuse socket, so the pigtail needs to go to the right. If you wire it so that the pigtail goes to the left, then you've essentially wired the two fuses in series, rather than in parallel (no bueno). Because the pigtail goes to the right, it obscures all the other fuses along that bank, so I wired the always on wire (a/k/a BATT) to FC12 - Head Unit (or maybe it was FC11??)." Did this help, or do you still have questions? I can take a better photo tomorrow if needed.AndyT,
Question for you on the fuse box for the front facing camera install. Which exact slots did you decide on? It’s hard to tell from your image. Also did you have to do any other modifications other than just plugging in the two pigtails facing right?
Thanks!
Hi @scottyboy436, I'm not sure what you mean about something being different between what i had and the manual you have. I used fuse # 21 for the switched circuit and #11 or #12 for the always-on circuit (if you need me to verify, i can try to do that tmrw). Also, the diagram in the manual is oriented in a weird way that you need to read the numbers upside down if you try to rotate the page so that it matches how the fuse panel is laid out. So fuse FC23 is at the top right corner if you are looking at your fuse panel. Is that the issue? If there's something else wrong, do let me know as I would want to correct any mis-information I may have out there.Been looking at andyt post about where to wire up the the wolfbox, what he says is completely different to the manual I have downloaded for my car , anyone able to help?
I'm not sure that's totally true @Bluesurf. I believe there are switched and always-on circuits in that front fuse panel that you can tap into for both wires off the Wolfbox. You shouldn't have to run a wire to the fuse panel under the rear seat. You can use this location only for the the yellow wire. use a fuse tap 7.5 on the left. Black wire to any metal surface for ground.
Red wire is with the ignition. Get a wire 5' go to the back seat behind the driver, lift seat and look at the fuse panel on the left. I used the first row. use a fuse tap. I put my fuse tap on a fuse 30, my tap fuse on the top will be a 15. Now take that wire bring it under the seat frame at the corner of the fuse area. Both doors passanger and front driver have sills at the bottom, pull up and they will come off. They will snap back in very easily. Using a plastic spatula or trim tool push the wire under the flooring all the way to under thae dash. Connect this wire to the red and you will be in business. If you have carpeting you will need to get your wire under it. It may be a bit more work.
If you find one that would be great, I have note found any that work with the ignition.I'm not sure that's totally true @Bluesurf. FC21 is a switched fuse as it goes to the front 12v outlet. As long as your main panel switch is off, then that circuit will only be powered when the ignition is on.If you find one that would be great, I have note found any that work with the ignition.
That is how I chose to power mine. Even though the Wolfbox was a lower rated fuse than that used by the 12v outlet, I haven’t blown a fuse in over a year. I don’t use the power outlet for any heavy current draw.FC21 is a switched fuse as it goes to the front 12v outlet.
