What did you do with your Grenadier today?

I ordered Nov 5th, but they didn't show up until Feb 28th. I think the hoped for lead time when I ordered was 12-14 weeks, but they apparently had some issues with their equipment for cutting the brackets and had to outsource them. Long wait, but fantastic sliders. The fit and finish and tolerances were great. The instructions left out a couple of mentions of where some washers went, but some post-install disassembly got everything in place. ;)

I should probably post on the slider page so others won't have the same issues.
Thanks. I really like these. I can get the Buzz Overland sliders now but the Dissents just look a bit better IMO. Cheers.

Finally returned home from overseas, and this package was waiting for me. Have the 2 front seats done, and dash cover. Will finish the rear seats tomorrow. Very happy with the Tougher car seat covers. I ordered directly from the factory, as I wanted the 2 tone covers, that are very similar to the cloth and leather seats.

Marc Lasanta from MileOne Ineos joined me, bringing a Quartermaster.
ironically enough, the last time I was at Katie's was specifically to meet up with an Ineos corporate employee that brought his QM, but that was back in the fall

Spent an inordinate amount of time assembling the Frontrunner Storage System this morning, but it went together well and is well thought out. Went for a post-install drive and there are absolutely zero rattles...the boxes are pinned down with quite strong springs and the structure itself is tight!

I’ve been looking at these instead of drawers. Is that a specific IG kit?

Do you think the framing would be strong enough to sleep on?

Yes, it is specific to the IG as the fit is perfect and it bolts right into the OE mounting points on the floor. As for sleeping; they recommend 80Kg max...but I feel if you're sleeping on it that the weight would be spread out rather than centred on one spot. The backseat area sits a few inches lower when they are folded forward so this would be an area that you'd want to fill in some how.

This stuff is the best i've found for getting the plastic trim on the ineos go from that dull gray to its original color.

I don't know why but on my grenadier the trim seems to age unusually fast. I also have some sap from trees that landed on my car, not to hard to remove from the paint (i ceramic coated my car) but it really discolors the trim. This stuff to the rescue.

Look at this pic. Car has been just handwashed and dried with a leaf blower. Look at the plastic fender flare on the front drivers side. Its been etched from tree sap or something that splashed on it from the road. Regular washing of the car doesn't get rid of it.

2 minutes for the trim restore:

I did all trim pieces and the bumper. Looks really good.

I'm usually not into the whole got to detail it a lot club, but the gray plastic just didn't sit right with me so i decided to do something about it.
The car was super messy after all the rains we've been having and as you can see i have to park under a tree.
I have ppf on top of the hood and the sides, i put it on last august and its holding up really wel.
I just bought mine today. I noticed in yours the A on your hood is red. Did yours come that way or did you get it done afterwards?

OK, so nowhere near going to be able to keep it in when the back is loaded to the roof with cartons of Fraser Island “camping” supplies like on top of a set of drawers, but probably strong enough to handle a full fridge and gear for an extended trip away. Can’t have everything I suppose. The attraction for me is that it should be pretty easy to put in and take out - something that isn’t so easy with drawers.

And in terms of sleeping on it, I’m sure I could rig something over the second row seats.

Thanks. I reckon I’m sold.

I bought a set as stickers on Etsy. The company was from salt lake City. Both the hood and the v behind the ladder on the door was in the set. They also shipped the rest of the letters in white but I didn't care for that.

I put ppf film on top of the decal.

Would you want me to look up the website site of the seller?
I'm on a road trip with the Grenadier in northern Nevada but should be home tomorrow and can send you a link.

I travelled to SLC and dropped by Warner Ineos today. Was hoping to take a look at the Quartermaster but not on the lot.

There was a couple looking at a Grenadier. Steve was helping them and when he went in to get the keys for a test drive I answered their question. They had asked which one I was looking at 😄. Once I told them they had lots of questions. At one point they asked what % of the commission I was getting 😆. I told them I was just “sharing the love” of the Grenadier.

Hopefully they are buying one!

Cunnamulla, Eulo, Thargomindah – Outback Queensland

Heading into Eromanga (Outback Queensland) I had two big days of driving, first from Stanthorpe to Cunnamulla, and then on to Eromanga.

Leaving Cunnamulla early the second morning, I travelled west out of Cunnamulla via Eulo (Eu-lo) and Thargomindah (Thar-go-min-dah) along the Bulloo Developmental Road. Here is an interactive map of the trip from Ballina to Eromanga. I also visited Noccundra and then turned northwards onto the Cooper Developmental Road and up into Eromanga the back way.

Even in these remote locations you can come across strange things, like a wetland in a big depression along the Bullo Developmental Road, seemingly out of place in such an arid part of the country. The wetland looks flat, but on both sides there are hills out of view.

My Blog has more story and pictures.

@TheDocAUS : Michael, as I watched the Premier of Queensland on the mid-day news giving an update on the immense flooding in outback Queensland which now covers a vast area (for our European friends) the size of Scotland and Wales, I was reminded of your trip to those parts including places in your photos above, just a few weeks ago... you certainly timed it to perfection!!

Eromanga was completely under last week, but it drained away in a few days. It was lapping up to the verandah at the Motel I stayed at. The iOR Refinery across the road was under water. Other parts are not so lucky like Quilpie which is on the Bulloo River which is still in flood. Still some water at floodways between Quilpie and Eromanga. I was walking across the dry and dusty river bed of the Bulloo when I was at Quilpie.

When I was at Eromanga we received 4mm one day and the sides of the road turned to mud, so it will take a little longer for the tracks to dry out.

My friend will leave for Ero next week. I cannot go this year because of ongoing treatment.

Lake Eyre here comes the water - over the few months.

I did not post the other report here, on leaving Eromanga. Now I will.

I had to stop the scenery was so beautiful in the early morning light. From memory I had a snack as well. Later that morning I came across a Grenadier on the Toompine-Eulo Road. I really like road names that have the two destinations in the road name, here Toompine at one end and Eulo at the other.

Nearby Thargomindah yesterday, a flood of a mere 6.1 metres!
