What did you do with your Grenadier today?

New Roo Bar from Expedition HQ Australia. this thing is Beefy! Well done Ineos! and...stop the crap and sell these in US! no issue whatsoever with parking sensors. tomorrow ill add the side bar protectors.

I have the rival, I liked it until I got the gas tank skid plate. They changed the transfer case skid plate and made it shorter and I don't think I like that. Other than that I'm pretty happy with it but I decided to not install the gas tank skid plate.
 
Looking for advice:

1. Best under armor/skid plates for total coverage
2. Roof rack that doesn't block safari windows / good attachment for light bars
3. Something to help with driving off-road where tall plants/grass won't scratch the shit out of the paint when driving around.

I know the last one is silly but I don't go off-roading very often and I don't want to ruin the pain job if possible

Can't help with #1; but for #2 the LFD Off Road full length rack has the option for a front fairing that partially recesses a light bar. The cross bars can be placed wherever you want, including not putting any over the safari windows. For what it's worth, they can still be over the safari's if you want them to open but not come out as well (this is how I had them positioned). If you want the lightbar further back, thye have a shorter 3/4 rack as well with the lightbar specific fairing.

For #3, either don't go to those places, or do full PPF. Honestly, a repaint before you're ready to sell the vehicle isn't that much more than what a full PPF job will cost; having some very serious paint correction done to get scratches out 3-4 times will still be cheaper than PPF

In the Mid-Atlantic there is almost no place I can go that does not scratch.
 
Mooloolaba is on the Sunshine Coast Queensland Australia.

I took this shot of a Cruise ship anchored off or almost in the little bay off Mooloolaba and found it interesting and wanted to share it. A lot of the passengers come from the USA and can spend months onboard, fantastic for some.
My wife and I drive to this beautiful beach on a regular basis and have posted before about our walking to the Mooloola River mouth which is directly behind the sail boat in the pic.
The passengers are ferried to and from the ship to a marina

in the river by the Lifeboats[200 passengers roughly] which you can see, they have the orange super-structure. The travelers can then be transported around the coast to various tourist spots included The Australia Zoo or just at the beach. An interesting fact is that any cargo ships going to the Port of Brisbane, Queensland's capital city are guided by pilots to and from Mooloolaba. So we have many ships off the coast waiting for a pilot or docking space at the port in Brisbane. Our Gren sat in a ship off here for three days before docking about two years ago now. You can see in the background of each pic Point Cartwright which protects the river mouth from the southerlys but nothing protects from a cyclone and now is the season with lows building as I write...it is a Wonderful World 👍

@Max 50 cruise ships in Hobart so far this season...
And I'm there next Friday. The infrastructure wouldn't cope so very few maybe 3 or 4 some one dayers or maybe 2 pending wheather, it is so random that it blows us out of the water to see them, such a huge thing sitting there, wow👍

Part of the many reasons to cruise into Hobart is it places you right on the edge of the city so is very accessible for tours, markets, buses, car rentals and of course a mandatory scallop pie (unless you're allergic). The terminal building is nicely done and is staffed by knowledgeable locals. It's a welcoming port to arrive at.

Sydney is similar but a bit more of a walk (or taxi, uber) around to Circular Quay. A sunset departure with drinks up on the pool deck is a must-do experience with the harbour bridge and the opera house close by.

The new cruise terminal in Brisbane is good but it's a long way out from the city and an ugly drive. It does not create a good first impression.

We're very fortunate when you consider the push back on cruise ship operations at other ports. Venice (Chioggia) was a bit tiresome last year. Disembark at Chioggia port then take a 90 minute water taxi ride up the Venician Lagoon to Venice Island. I understand why they've done it but it has diminished the experience. The transit cuts about 4 hours off a day port visit to Venice Island. A byproduct of being too popular.

The 20 guest Olivia O was anchored off Monaco when we visited last July. A very interesting one-of-a-kind private motor yacht built for ice operations. It's probably owned by a Bond villain.

You should plan a trip to Hobart in the Gren, it is on my list but not by boat this time. The Wooden Boat Festival is on.

Drove to Tasmania via hopefully on the new ferry :)

On number 3 I've got a roll of carpet protection film that I am going to try next time I am off roading. Not sure it will help, but there is a limit to the number of times pinstripes can be polished out.
