95% of buyers don't get misty eyed over such arcane features but I get your point.

Yeah. Where's the fun in that?
As the others have mentioned before, if you're stopped on a hill, and the engine is OFF, the truck WILL roll backwards before the engine starts back up. It happened to me several times early on, before hitting this button became automatic. So while this feature may be fuel-saving, it is unsafe - not generally, but in INEOS' implementation in the Grenadier.

So... This does not appear too complicated to me:

It may, if something gets fried. But so may any electrical or mechanical modification of the vehicle.

Mounted Owl Talon Wheels and 285/70-R17 BFG KO3. Perfect balance for stock ride height I think.

I kept the spare rim stock as I wanted continued use of the rear cubby compartment for recovery gear.

I optioned secondary Apex Quick deflate valves (the rims have 2 valves) They are awesome. You can drop 3lbs in less than 3 seconds.

Looks brilliant with the wheels matched to the roof. Really first rate. I wish more wheels had two valve holes. Otherwise to use the Apex valves you have to ditch the TMPS sensors. And I might have to copy the way you colored the Grenadier logo on the spare tire storage bin. So good.

"Full metal jacket"... Custom Offroad 4mm SS bash plates Black Friday sale.: f/r diff, rear control arm pivots , sump/ transmission and t/f case. Was able to crawl around sufficiently to "lever" the heavier plates into place and loosely bolt in position prior to final tensioning. I'll sleep well tonight
EDIT: Was most impressed that 14/20 bolt holes tapped and threaded during vehicle production, 4 bolts plus nylocs into existing brackets and remaining 2 for the t/f case plate piggybacked on to the existing (middle) attachment points for the LHS side runners.
All in all a satisfying task for an old bloke! (according to ageing neighbour!)

I’m VERY impressed you were able to do it all yourself! I went the “SPP” F.M.J. route, but unlike you this ole body of mine had a difficult time trying to negotiate holding the heavy ass plates and bolting them in place, so I had to hire a shop to install for me. I tip my hat to ya sir!

Trust me it’s more than looks! 6mm thickness/heavy as hell & probably why I couldn’t install by myself. Haven’t found another under armor kit thicker. Most are around 4mm, this one is 6mm. It was only painted red to match the factory painted red frame. It will get used & probably scratched, but that’s the beauty of paint, can be reapplied. I’m not going rock crawling or taking it to the MOAB, but will be traveling across the USA looking for the best fly fishing spots off the beaten path/hidden. Well that’s the goal…..::
